Discovery and some issues.

1.Simply warping near a sun gives you the 608Cr no scanning needed, is this intentional?
.
2.Why are planets worth the same as belts when discovered, should belts and clusters be worth more? (resources)
.
3.Why does every station pay the same? should the mining colonies pay more for cluster/belt data?
.
4.Should the active scans (the ones we hold down fire and hear the fog horn) yield more information/Cr per planet/belt etc as just whizzinf around and discovering nets the same, the parp is only needed to ech other bodies atm and it also does not seem to work all the time.
.
Now I have travelled near and far and discovered many new areas, infact I have made near 200k Cr in discovery alone, some areas are yielding more because of more bodies (I think I have hit 18k in one system). As a primary source of Cr some new players will be taking advantage of this and never really having done this before gamma it was quite baffling why the clusters of roids where not worth more considering how much time (have to get real close to em) it takes to discover them.
.
Can this be looked into please FD, as it is a fun thing to do and probably a very good career especially to the new players as it gives them a chance to get used to flight/docking/hyper jumping about some of the core mechanics.

Yes. I think you get a flat fee of 608 Cr. for a discovered astronomical object.

2.Why are planets worth the same as belts when discovered, should belts and clusters be worth more? (resources)

Different objects have different payouts when scanned. An asteroid is just a rock in space. Only if there are reserves in them, it is worth something. Don't know about exact payouts, though.

4.Should the active scans (the ones we hold down fire and hear the fog horn) yield more information/Cr per planet/belt etc as just whizzinf around and discovering nets the same, the parp is only needed to ech other bodies atm and it also does not seem to work all the time.

Discovery is discovery. When you have a detailed surface scanner - in addition to the discovery scanner - you do not even need to actively scan. It automatically discovers objects in the range of the basic surface scanner. Don't know whether this works with intermediate discovery scanner as well.

Payout scheme is:
- Discovery
- Scanning (target body and scan it by having it in the center of the screen with scanner mounted, while in range)
- Scanning with better scanners (Level 2, Level 3)

The main issue I see at the moment is that the scanning doesn't raise the fee earned if not done separately. So currently - to maximize profits - you need to:

1. Discover planets / objects
2. Sell data
3. Scan the same planets / objects

Don't know if bug or intended.

Yeh this is what I was trying to say, shouldn't it yield mor Cr especially if you can spend a large amount on a decent scanner only to yield the same.
thanks for the input in just one scan with the better scanner

3. Its the Universal Cartography that pay you.
.
we know this, this is not one of my issues I just thought of another issue, why do the cartographers know nothing (sometimes) about the system they are in (scanned quite a few like this)? or am I thinking they are physically stationed there and not some group LY away in another system

Has anyone been able to do a lvl2/3 detailed scan? .. I've just finished a round on exploration finding just about every type of planet out there and both are still 0 for me
(currently have detailed surface scanner and intermediate discovery scanner)
