If you discover an astronomical body, then die before reporting it, your name doesn't get attached as its discoverer.

If you then go back and re-scan the same body, does your name get attached as discoverer then?

If not, what happens?

What happens if you've wiped your save before rescanning?

(Side note: if you honk a system then go to a station with Universal Cartographics, all the bodies' names are listed despite showing up as 'unknown' shipboard. Should we get the names of all the bodies on scanner honk but an indicator [different colour?] that they've not been fully/detailed scanned yet, or should bodies show up as 'unknown' in UC if unscanned?)

Correct.

Correct again. Assuming no one else scanned and returned with the data in the meantime. But that's no different to having never been there the first time.

Nothing happens until you report back with your data. So it doesn't matter if you die or clear your save, you didn't do anything until the data is registered.

I've only died once while exploring. The system maps for the systems I saw are still visible and when I went back to rescan my first ELW I couldn't, it was explored in system and I could neither rescan nor ever sell that data.

Maybe it was bugged for me but that was my experience.
