Apologies for bringing you your Discovery Scanner a day later than usual this week, but here we are! Let's talk about all things Elite Dangerous.

Fleet Carrier Interiors & Update 11 Feedback

First up this week, I want to talk about Fleet Carriers, specifically, your feedback to the launch of interiors, and Update 11 as a whole. We're very happy to see that the vast majority of Commanders are enjoying the update, and of course the jump sequence that I like to bring up every week because it's just THAT good. Your feedback, however, has been incredibly valuable as we look to improve the experience further moving forward. Of all the feedback, I believe the following are the most prevalent:

  • Bartender Service storage cap (already tweaked)
  • Bartender Service sell pricing cap
  • You would like to use menus whilst sitting
  • The panel next to the Commander's chair in the bridge should be interactive
The above has all been fed back to the dev team who will be taking these points into consideration. If there's a point here that you believe is worth raising that I've missed, please do leave feedback below! I'm interested in hearing your thoughts in detail on the Bartender Service sell pricing cap.

Class 3 Fragment Cannons

The team are currently investigating an issue where some Commanders are unable to deploy Class 3 Fragment Cannons. At the moment this seems to be a Horizons-only issue, but we're continuing to look into it. You can follow the Issue Tracker report for it here.

Community Event Calendar

Last week, we finally launched the Community Event Calendar! It's fantastic to see events start to populate the calendar as we get things moving. I'll be highlighting an event below, but I also wanted to comment on some of the feedback we're hearing and what we're looking at for a potential next phase.

  • Event length limit is too short - we are looking to raise this in the short term to two weeks, and long-term, allow a way to display longer events for those that want to see them, without cluttering the calendar for others.
  • Shareable links - At the moment, you can't share a direct link to an event once you open the pop-up. This is also on the list for the team to look into moving forward.

Last Chance For Type-9 Spring Paint Job Twitch Drops

Make sure you tune in to Frameshift Live this week on Thursday at 4PM BST (3PM UTC) for your last chance in the current run to earn the Spring paintjobs for the Type-9 via Twitch Drops! We've seen a huge amount of claims so far, but we don't want you to miss out on those lovely paintjobs for your ever-reliable hauler.

Community Event Calendar Spotlight: The Endurance Expedition

This week we're spotlighting the upcoming Endurance Expedition! The exploration event gets started on the 6th April in LHS 6309 10 am UTC, when the carriers will jump from LHS 6309 to Serenity Pru Euq WO-D b53–8. The expedition is open to all Commanders, but especially those looking to visit Colonia, Sagittarius A* and Beagle Point. The leading Commanders aren't requesting any Tritium but any donations would be appreciated! Got multiple ships? No problem! They can be stored on one of the participating Fleet Carriers!

The closed doors for unavailable services in the FC are a bit ugly. Any chance you could just have them as unused spaces or maybe with some crates?

The social space should always be available, whether the bartender is there or not.

Where are our NPC pilots?

Living quarters, a trophy room, space where we can visually store our foot equipment wouldn't go astray....
 
Hi - as a further, oft repeated, request - would be very cool if our own carrier crew recognised us when approaching for landing, rather than the usual generic approach voice messages. Also - if those two crew seated in front of the command deck had a different animation for the jump sequence itself, at present, it's as if they don't even know there's a jump happening! There must be something they need to do!
 
A very minor aspect, which has no influence on the gameplay itself, but it is a niggle nevertheless, is the fact that the navigators in the FC instantly change at the end of the jump, when the new instance is accessed.

More than once I had a pony-tailed lady suddenly become a bald man.
 
I second having the blank doors opened even if they just lead to empty storage areas, but having facilties to fit that don't require maintenance, say like a hydroponic garden that you can buy and install would be nice, I am sure we can come up with enough non-credit earning facilities for players to install, I mean even if they cost ARX, ie they are regarded as a decoration, that would be fine.
 
I assume this a patch 11 thing - I did my first Settlement combat for a while last night, as luck would have it, it was an atmosphered world and the sun was shining brightly. Gorgeous. The only problem was none of the AI would move they just remanined stationary, although they did fire at me. Is it just me or is this happening widely?

I would fill my FC with plants (inconsistent gravity notwithstanding)

+1 for FC ATC recognising their CMDR - apologies; I know I bang on about it a lot.

Also, where's that piping to get tritium from storage into the FC fuel tanks? My T9 needs de-radioactifying every time it has to transfer to its hold then "donate" it.

Can we have better internal customisation?

For example, could this be put in so we can put decals we own on walls?


That, and be able to choose the holographic adverts? It ruins the 'this is a pirate vessel, we are going to rob you blind and destroy your ship' when you have a 'FRIENDSHIP DRIVE CHARGING! :D :D 🌈 🦄' happy poster pop up.

If there's the chance of a Horizons patch could the problem with facilities not showing for stations in Horizons be looked at as well:

It seems to be affecting all platforms (in Horizons) and makes it tricky to find the nearest working IF for example, you know for those times when things didn't go according to plan (or did, depending)
