Discussion: Pirate stations. what to do with them

Pirate stations, or outposts, what can we do to make them interesting and relevant.
Well for one, have a blackmarket on them that sells and buys goods.
Maybe have some pirate only upgrades, or cheaper pirate upgrades that Pirates use, such as interdictors, cargo scanners, wake scanners ect.

Also have Pirate patrol ships, like evil police, shooting down anyone not wanted, or a smuggler carrying illegal goods.
Have pirate systems, a very dangerous place to go, filled with only Pirate stations.
A safe haven for the wanted, a profitable place for illegal and stolen goods, a very lethal dangerous place if your not.

So whats your idea's to make a pirate station unique and interesting.

Actually yeh reavers. Good idea. For me anything to add more danger to the Galaxy, in certain places of course, so there is still safer systems.

I believe any pirate station should have a female verbose robot tell me that there is a pirate Brigantine or pirate Carrack ... the worst nightmare of teladi traders.
