Disney Expansion Pack

I know it has already been discussed, but...
If you could make it to get the copyrights from Disney, you could sell the Expansion for a lot of money. Because I´m quite sure that everyone, who still plays this game would buy it, no matter how much it will cost.

What do you think?

In my opinion, knowing Disney, I think there's a higher chance of them trying to buy Frontier than dishing out copyrights to anyone to be honest... [downcast]

Also, judging by how much Disney World charge for one day at one park, of course it'll be pricey. At least £100 for DLC. I don't think so. ;)

Frontier has developed the "Disneyland" game for Disney and Microsoft. I don't think, that it wasn't impossible at all, but I'm sure, before they would buy a licence for a Disney DLC release for PlanCo they would release a lot more of their own expansions.

Apart from that a Disney licence would catapult the game sellings into new dimensions, when one could build exact copies of each and any real or fantasy Disneyland.

Well isn't that news for me? [squeeeeee]

I think PC has quite a few similarities to (say) Disneyland anyway! The Canyon Runner is pretty much an exact replica of Big Thunder Mountain after all. ;)

I wouldn't buy it. I want more generic themes, not Disney themes, Marvel themes or any other IP themed stuff.

Instead, give me a generic cartoon theme, or a superhero theme, etc.

I would agree with you, however i do like some licensed stuff. Mainly the things i am very nostalgic about. Like the Universal stuff. But i am very selective about the Licensed Things i would like as DLC.

I doubt that I would buy it either, Not immediately, that's for sure, but maybe if it's on sale.

I would not buy it, I prefer original content.

We see Disney too much. I want to see what your/my imagination is capable of.

Even the haunted mansion... I see people go to great effort to reproduce it. Why? In the end, it's not your work!

I am guilty of wanting to do The Shining movie set. I started it, then changed my mind after having this realisation. Instead I am now making a completely different horror house from imagining how I want it to look, and the story behind it. I feel more freedom, less constrained! Much more satisfying. Creativity beats reproduction!

Eh, I for one am split on this idea. I'm not 100% or even 50% for an expansion DLC based on Disney, but maybe a DLC or free update based on a ride featured in Disney parks like Doombuggies or the Splash Mountain boats. I, for one, enjoy creating my own style. And I've seen some amazing mind-blowing content created that just shows why we don't have custom content in the game due to the community's explosive creativity... its astonishing and inspirational.

Disney is such an broad label and you got to think of it like this: if they released so much of this, then the community would be divided on the content by saying they were upset that this or that wasn't included. So releasing Disney content in general is a touchy subject because if they released say, Marvel content, then others would be upset they didn't release Star Wars, or the Classics, or even be upset they didn't release said Character from the Marvel brand. A great example is when PC released micro-transactions based on Universal... we remember that fiasco.
