Diso rare allowance

I read somewhere that people involved in one of the CGs were entitled to an extra allowance of Diso Ma Corn at Shifnalport at Diso. I was NOT involved in that CG or any other, but have just filled my hold with 50T of the rare. Should I be allowed that? The usual limit is 15T I think. Or was the increase for everyone?

Yes, all global rewards from CG's at the moment apply to all CMDR's. Even if you didn't participate you get the reward.
Same as the ship discount in Zaonce, you get it even if you didn't take part.

I think this is because the bonuses are currently manually implemented by FDev's changing the station stats.

While I do think all players should have the chance to join in CG and not be over so quickly - It seems a bit unfair that folks (like me) can take advantage of the rewards.
I've never done and CG yet (had no interest in them), and I've never even thought of trying to cash in on them after the fact either :S


Perhaps there should be a reserved allowance for everyone to chip in something to make them eligible for the rewards, on a 24 hour timer (perhaps 48) after the event is complete. Then after that timer the rewards go live for those who earnt them and took part. Fair idea?

I always interpreted the "Global" bit in the "Global reward" as global for all the player participating in the CG, in terms that all of them get the same global reward as opposed to tiered cash rewards.

However recently all the reports indicate that in fact "Global" means global for all and every player in the galaxy.

I'm kind of indifferent towards this - it doesn't bother me that much, albeit it seems a little unfair that someone that didn't participate and contribute towards a community goal gets something out of it. But like I said, I'm not really bothered about it, I'd just like to get a confirmation from a developer if that's per design or a bug.

I have Feedreader 3.14 installed and hooked into ED so I know what is going on lol.

Also, if folks are fine with non CG participants collecting rewards, then ignore my suggestion completely.
Just thought it would be fair to lock rewards to those who actually deserved them, but what do I know - and I don't mind getting cheap stuff because someone else worked hard

On-topic: While I don't participate in CG's at the moment (and certainly wouldn't partake in a galaxy-wide reward for such CG - that would feel... slimey), I do believe there was an in-game lore-based description as to why this particular one is available to everyone. Namely that the system has ramped up production of Diso Ma Corn. That increased production would indeed make it more available in general, not just to those who hauled in all the extra equipment.

Yup, I was on exploration and got back 2 days after it finished. Got a discounted Conda, Viper and Sidewinder. Need another 10mil by monday to get a Python and complete the set.
All stock though, no cash for upgrades now


On the topic of deserved or not it depends on your viewpoint. Miss a friday due to real life and you could miss an entire CG and loose something great. I think if they re-balanced CG's to last at least 4/5 days then they could restrict the global rewards (assuming it is technically viable).

I get it but I would be very irritated that people got a discount on ships when I didn't even know it was going on. And that now I was excluded from both that, the prize money, and the interactions at said CG.

Exactly my thoughts! I have pretty low interest in Community Goals, mostly because I mix up exploration and long runs, and they seem to be pretty focused on playing in one place. At least making people who were active in the CG have some benefit over the global benefit would be nice, but I could just sell 35T of Ma Corn near to Diso and shrug my shoulders that I've done what I think is right.

Off to sell my Ma Corn before I feel like I'm cheating...

I probably should have been clearer, the cash rewards are not for everyone. Only the bonuses such as increased corn allowance or ship discounts that last for X days after the CG completes.

Mmm, after all, people who hauled buttock can make millions. I picked up a 4M bonus for a few Pythonfulls, for example- the work of less than an hour. That's a pretty decent reward for time invested. I'm in no way enraged if everyone else can take advantage of a typical "special offer" global reward- it doesn't harm me one bit. Good luck to them, may they enjoy it in good health.

I do agree that the comms could be better though- not everyone reads these forums.

what is the max allowance again? for some reason i thought it was upping to 24 tons but people are saying they got 50?

if so i may have to shelve my talk tonight and get on

PS I think it makes sense everyone benifits from this, after all, all our machinery delivered has lead to a glut of product being flooded on the market.
