Distance From?

Why would there be a distance countdown on most everything targeted in the game, but no distance indicator on a targeted Low Energy Wake? I find this not game breaking but annoying and somewhat illogical. I Target a Low Energy Wake for a Mission and flying up to it I don't know how close or far I am. All I get is a sudden notice that I should now jump out of FSD. Comments?
