PvP Distant Banks - A Colonial Roadtrip - G4 SCBs

Everyone's aware by now that the smart folks up in Colonia (NPCs that is, not the papership cruising exploder explorer bois), have developed G4 SCB upgrades.

Understandably this is going to result in a blueprint pinning expedition for a number of bubble-bound PvP CMDRs.

I'm here to suggest that instead of heading off piecemeal, in dribs & drabs over the course of the next few months, that the PvP community makes a concerted effort to make the trip as a community.

There are a couple of reasons for this:

Firstly, it's Elite: Dangerous out there and more wingmen is always better than fewer.

Secondly, perhaps most importantly, larks may be had at the expense of the local residents. I foresee a number of ASBO's being issued by the local authorities.

Well Darth, I may be mistaken, but it seems there's little enthusiasm for your charming idea of a caravan of fighters travelling together on a bromantic adventure. Could it really be a thing? Perhaps you have been spending too much time talking to explorers. Distant Banks? Just keep cycling through the alphabet, you'll hit the right letter eventually! ;)

Hey, the genius Distant Banks idea was mine ... [sour]

Haven't had much time to play the last few days, but I did have my CMDR mail over his SCBs and have upgraded them...

Didn't run into any resistance, yet.

A couple of guys from my PvP squadron and myself are on our way to Colonia right now in fully armed and shielded ships to unlock that engineer and gank some fools while we're out there.

Pro Tip: take your taxi DBX and transfer your ships there. Should spare you some time in the end :D

Nice to see the stats, eventually something that goes beyond the legacy modules. But as I seldom use my old SCBs and am not up to date regarding special effects: What's the advantage of "Recycling Cell" that outweighs "Flow Control"?

What's the advantage of "Recycling Cell" that outweighs "Flow Control"?

Recycling cell results in more total recharge, the charge rate is just slower. However this downside is largely irrelevant as it doesn't affect spin-up time, and you can only interrupt SCB use with feedback cascade during the spin-up time. It may also reduce the rate at which cells can be ultimately cycled, but if I'm burning through A7 cells so fast that I need one every fifteen seconds, I'm taking way too much focus fire, and it was time to leave a few minutes ago.

Flow control is there to reduce power consumption, but if power isn't an issue, it has virtually no advantages.

Lets do this a mass expedition to Colonia, much like the Distant Worlds expedition.

Its still messed up that you cant do Experimental effects from pinned.
