Saw it in the exploration sub forum and just assumed it would be another pc affair and ignored it. That being said, Im at sag A right now in a low range ship so aint going anywhere fast. Id be up fer it if I get back in time ^

This expedition will be open to all platforms and all explorers. Obviously there are challenges with the consoles in regards to instancing, but that is why we are bing involved at such an early stage.

This expedition is still a long time ahead. I'd like to say I'd probably go but I don't even know what I'm doing tomorrow. Also, I'm on my way to Beagle Point now...been for awhile still 23,000 LY away from Beagle Point...so close. The trip has been a very long one and I'm already cringing at the return trip. Hopefully, this trip doesn't wear me down for the Expedition. We shall see. So for me, I'm a maybe.

Having started playing this year in April I was nowhere near the Elite scene when DW1 happened. This is something that would really interest me as I have a soft spot for exploring, but by yourself and with the limited things to find out there, it loses its potency.

I think it’s a great idea to wait until squadrons and fleet carriers are introduced, not to mention all of the new anomalies and the codex etc.

Will there be or is there already a distant worlds Xbox group? This would be a great way to ensure everyone who wants to partake can see where everyone is and can group up etc.

Who knows, maybe by the time DW2 begins Fdev will have twisted Microsoft’s arm into having pc/Xbox crossplay....now that would be special.

XBL groups, discords, etc is something we will be discussing soon. Whatever happens, there will be a method available to you to contribute whether you are flying solo or in a large group.

Depends...Beagle Point is about 65,000 LY from Sol. My Asp Explorer can do about 35 LY jump. I sometimes average about 1,000-2,000 LY a gameplay. I think I timed it at about an hour for 29-30 jumps, that’s jumping, honking, scanning at least the star, check the system map to see what kind of planets (while star scans), water planets and earth-like planets I go out of the way, if not I scoop 1/3 around star and jump to next system.

So for me it’s probably 65 hours. Looking at 1-2 hour game days sometimes more...roughly 35-40 days of playing.
