That's a great commentary about your experience on Distant Worlds, and how it helped you.

I'm glad it helped you through a rough time in your life.. You're spot on, the community it gave birth to was second to none. Unique at the time.

From humble beginnings it grew into so much more thanks to the dedication of so many people who put their free time in. That comradeship shown by the DWE fleet, initially over 1,000 strangers, all on one epic quest togehter, is something that the organizers are probably most proud of. I know I am.

It was an awesome adventure into the unknown, both in game terms and in a community working as one terms too. Uncharted ground at the time, for all of us.

And yes, the rumors of Distant Worlds 2 are correct - but it all depends on what update 2.4 or Season 3 brings If possible we want it to be something different to DWE 3302 in its goals, but not in it its scope!
