A bunch of the registered DW photographers teamed up to set up a beautiful and comprehensive pictures collection dedicated to this insane journey of ours.
We intend to provide an awe-inspiring feeling to joining CMDRs, exploration enthusiasts, as well as to space lovers and curious visitors.
We'll do our best, and hope our albums will remain an ever-enjoyable journal of the historic Distant Worlds galactic expedition.

DISTANT WORLDS ANDROID WALLPAPER APP (new!)

CMDR Ultimus released an android app called Distant Worlds For Muzei, which rotates your homescreen wallpaper and uses screenshots taken by commanders the DWE. It's a plugin for the popular open source Muzei android app, thus it requires that you already have Muzei installed. Its source currently is CMDR atomicb0mb369's batch of images contained in his Windows themes. CMDR Ultimus will add more in the following days. Try it and rep his work!

Hey guys -

I have two contributions.

One, my own blog resides at: http://cmdrbartmoss.blog.pandemonium.de/ - it's a mish-mash of Elite content; I am mostly a youtuber but the blog was originally intended to be written in-character so I expect to post some photos and travelogue-like material to the blog.

Two, and perhaps more importantly, we (and by that I mean mostly me with Dr Kaii's blessing) set up http://www.distantworldsexpedition.com/ - it's just got a handful entries right now as I set it up very late yesterday. The idea was mainly to provide a central place for us (filmmakers' team) to post links to videos, but I will be very, very, VERY happy to feature any and all Distant Worlds content there. I'll try to keep up myself but I expect that attempt to be doomed to failure, so by all means, do send me anything you want me to include. That also includes links to galleries, blog posts, images or articles you want published there directly, etc.

Fantastic! - I really enjoyed that. The prep work, trepidation of what lies ahead, and the whole vibe of the video brought back a lot of memories for me when I set out last year to reach Beagle Point in my Asp.

I would like to recount my return to a system that I've visited before.

HD 148173

This is a C7 Carbon star, and it has a well populated system of dwarf stars and planets with moons.
I've nicknamed this system "Bloody Baal" because the colour of the star reminds me of blood, as well as the giant eye of a demon.

I visited 2 moons this evening to take in the scale of the star in the system.
HD 148173 3 A is a tiny moon with relatively large mountains and canyons 601ls from the star. There is a 6.5km high mountain at -79.6951,-0.2519 which gives a phenomenal 360 degree panorama of the central star, the Milky Way, the parent planet and it's binary. Prospecting this planet turned up Mn, Se, Zn, Nb, Sn, Te.

After that I headed to 1 A to get some images closer to the star. I landed by a rocky canyon at 16.768,128.823 and savoured the sheer scale of the star filling the sky as the primary planet slowly set beneath the horizon. Prospecting turned up Mn, V, Zn, Cd and Y.

A more technical question...any clues as to why High-Resolution screen shots (Alt+F10) won't work for me anymore? I'm in SOLO and my normal F10 works fine.

This Elite Dangerous programme is so bloody annoying at times.
