Distress Call

I dropped into a level 5 distress signal source, where there was a Farragut class capital ship being attacked. I took out the attackers, got nothing from the event, not even a communication from the capital ship. This isn't new, there's usually a scripted "help please" type message that persists even after the encounter has ended.

Why can't distress signals have some interaction? A modicum of gratitude would not be out of the question. Maybe some rep, something. It feels like the game exists around me and I'm just a ghost that pops in.

On behalf of the PF, thank you. :)

Seriously though, agree. Would be nice for it flow into other game play.

I mean why even drop in?

I've outfitted fuel limpets and things I can use to do SAR, but there simply nothing there for me when I do it. I can pick up pods and such, fuel ships, but it's like it never happened. I enter SC again and there's the call, I drop in and do it again and nothing, just nothing.

Totally disconnected from anything. It's a big reason why my ships are all docked and I only venture out now and again. Since they took the fat cash from passengers, there's nothing else that piques my interest.

Not sure if this is still a thing, but distress signals with a ship that was out of fuel you could refuel it. They never rewarded you. But, if you didn't refuel it, and waited 10 mins or so, a Rescue One ship would turn up and refuel the other ship.

The capital ship distress calls have been lacking for a very long time. All you can really do, apart from killing opposing NPC's, is to knock out the heat relays of the wanted ship and drive it away.

That's it.

Maybe someday, soon...

I find it really strange the guys who made all of these scenarios actually felt ok about them having no "win condition" or "ending"
