Distress Signal - How I send one?

Hi guys and sorry for bothering.

I am loving this game but there's a function that I am yet to learn how to activate: Distress Signal.

How I can send a call for help in the game?

I have see a guy in other thread saying that he send a lv 2 signal. How I do that?

Never heard of a level 2 distress signal. However, if on your right hand panel, you have "report crimes against me" on the functions tab, then eventually the law will turn up, but you will probably be dead by then.

You can't send distress signals, I think you've misunderstood a post where someone has said they came across one. Unidentified signal sources are now given a threat level from 0 to 4 when you scan them, and the guy found a Distress Signal with a threat level of 2.

That's what "Report crimes against me." is, once switch on, it's automatic, as soon as you're attacked your ship sends out a distress call.

I wouldn't rely on them anyway. About as reliable and useful as trains after a light dusting of snow.

Those are spawned by the game as unidentified signal sources. Be aware that Distress Signals are significantly more dangerous than their rating indicates. I dropped into a Threat 2 yesterday with 7 hostile NPCs in it, from Eagles to FDL size.

You can, and do, automatically, so long as you follow the advice here :

In safer locales, the cops arrive pretty fast, so long as you are reporting crimes.
