A gentleman named Bart Dizzy became big in the entertainment industry all because of a cartoon mouse named Dizzy Mouse:

He decided to try to build a theme park on the east coast, and after scouting around decided to approach the zoning board and city council of Chesapeake, Virginia

with a proposal to build his theme park there. So he selected a plot of land where there was once an amusement park called "Planet Coaster" which went out of business due to the competition of Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Kings Dominion.

So, after purchasing the land he decided to test the waters and see how ready Chesapeake was for a theme park. Since the entrance to the park area was already there, he decided to use it temporarily. And so, Dizzyland Chesapeake was born. At first he only started with a couple of rides and a bit of theming. (more to come)

With how this is going so far, I'm half expecting the next post of this or something to be like "Bart decided to go cheap, so he placed some pre-themed rides that were being sold by a nearby theme park."

Since Bart was trying to see how receptive the area was to a new theme park, he did not want to sink a lot of money into the park until he was sure that it would be worthwhile. So, the first things he did was to place a Venetian Carousel with some pirate theming.

And, the Victory swinging ship:

With just those two rides, he was able to attract almost 400 guests into his park. This was encouraging so he started planning what to add next.

Since Bart Dizzy was encouraged by the park attendance so far, he decided to construct a new type of roller coaster that worked on a single solid rail.
