DK2 Amazing Results on 0.8 windows 10 !!! (But To What End)

A little off topic guys, sorry :/

If i own horizons, and a friends does not... can we still meet up and do what we were normally doing in the standard ED?
as in would i need to launch the season 1 ED to play with them? or can i just launch horizons and everything is the same, apart from i would have the Horizons aspect and they would not?

I loaded steam tonight and then moved my ED and Horizons over using the keys available to us. In order to use Beta do I just opt in or is there an actual SteamVR Beta download somewhere? I did a clean install of the new NVidea 361.43 driver also and runtime 0.8. Loaded the V3 switcher and that works beautifully so I should now be able to enjoy more than just ED. Taking a while to load these 2 games in to Steam but hope this works if it does rep to you Susscon and then I will reinstall Reshade. Setup is I7-4790K, on an ASUS Pro V97 MB, a GeForce 980 4GB, 32G of RAM, Samsung 850 Pro SSD, DK2, X52 Pro

Yes mate, you just right click steam VR Properties, beta tab, and just opt in for steamvr beta update. that will allow you to use the 0.8 runtime and get good frames if you use the monitor overclock method above to get 75hz.

that being said, i have been switching back and forth between using the 0.5 and 0.8 methods.. and personally i do prefer staying on the 0.5 using the switcher, as i can tweak to get better DSR resolution in my nvidia control panel.
but i think if your system has got the juice, you might get better results on the 0.8 method, and using the in game super sample option in graphic settings switched to 1.5 or even 2.0. if i try using that on my machine, anything past 1.0 i get frame drops :/

Well darn me it works!

The only thing I had to do different was to start SteamVR and run the room setup to get the start point right. Works a treat now :)

I am getting close I think the game now launches and comes up on screen as a double image. The demo scene works on the rift and looks perfect but I cannot get the image in to the rift from my screen. What am I doing wrong? Should the rift be on when I start my system or off?

Edit: My rift does not appear as a monitor now in either windows or NVidea control panel? The light is yellow on it indicating direct mode right? Oculus config shows DK2 ready.

in game settings, in the 3D option in graphics settings, make sure ''side by side'' is selected :)
