DK2 and GPU(s)?

Hi there! Which CPU and motherboard are you running? I have the flickering problem on a 2600k/p67 chipset board. but it looks like users with haswell don't have this problem.

For what it's worth, I'm running twin 780 GTXs in SLI and don't notice any major latency issues, it's buttery smooth with almost everything turned on (not running DSR however, that's been giving me serious flicker issues any time I try to use it).

sorry to hijack / jump in here, I was thinking about getting a DK2 and have two GTX 660 SLI, would they be up to the task running ED?

970 is better value. Also I don't believe some of the comments here about SLI are correct for the new 9-series GTX cards.

If money is no object, go for 980 with a view to a 2nd in SLI soon. Otherwise, 970-SLI > single 980.

Ali is not supported by dk2 so it won't make a difference.

one 970 is much better $ deal than he 980 for little gain.

I run a single 970, EVGA FTW, and I have everything on Max.... its a sweet experience.
Me too...

me too

only little lag sometimes in stations when i when I use open broadcast to capture what's going on in the rift...

Ignore the naysayers. Elite, SLI and VR are all working fine together and the people saying otherwise clearly haven't tried it or haven't a clue how to set it up.

Try disabling the monitor...
I'm running 2x 980s in SLI at DSR x3 with NO judder :)

Yeah.. some of those comments must be old because SLI has worked fine for me since I started playing a month ago. I have tested with both a single card and SLI on the same machine and there is a very noticeable performance improvement with SLI.

As far as the OP, I always get a single card and then buy the other later when they drop in price. I run 2x780s and have pretty good performance at Medium settings all around. The 970 is on par with a 780 so I would go ahead and get the 980.. but you're really splitting hairs at this point. Both of those cards are great!

Go for a 970, mines run the dk2 no probs, ok not maxed out on everything. The cv may not be ready until the end of next year, and nvidia may have a new card by then which may be more geared towards vr . ?

I've heard a lot of judder from 970 people in the Oculus forums?

Can you show us some links please because I can't find much info? I haven't had any judder.

I have 2 970s running in SLI, no problems.

Smooth on max settings.

With only one card enabled (SLI disabled) ED is bl00dy awful with the same settings....

Nosh
