DK2: completely losing head tracking, am I the only one?

Hey all,

Wondering if I am the only one.
After 5 to 10 minutes into the game, my graphics turn gray and I lose head tracking.
The problem appeared from beta 3.9 and gamma, for sure it was not there in beta 2.
My camera blue LED is still on, so I assume it is a problem with the latest builds of the game.

I am using a i7 4930K and a SLI of GTX 680 4GB.
Nvidia drivers are 344.75 and I use 0.4.3 runtime for the rift with firmware 0.12.

Just to be clear, I have also the lighting issue on right eye (since gamma 1.01) and the judder / position reset problem (just before I completely lose head tracking) like everyone else.
But I seem to be the only person thus far to complety lose head tracking (colors remain gray and I am forced to restart the game).

If I disable SLI, the problem seems to vanish.
Please HELP !

SLI is currently no good for VR. Even though it might make your game run at a higher FPS, it introduces an extra frame or two of latency and the latency tradeoff for better performance definitely doesn't make it worth it.

SLI probably also introduces other factors that would affect VR, the rendering is different than a normal game, so until we get per-eye rendering for each card in some form of new drivers from Nvidia and Oculus, I'd definitely recommend avoiding SLI with the Rift.

I'm running DK2 SLI fine.

As far as the desaturation/loss of head tracking, have you disabled core parking? After doing that, I stopped having that issue. Of course, for me and everyone else I saw, the loss of tracking only sporadically happened and lasted a few frames. It also happened regardless of SLI enabled/disabled.

I just tried disabling core parking, I still end up losing the positional tracking after some time in game with SLI on.
With SLI off, I let the game run in VR for more than 1 hour without having the issue.
Well I guess I will live without SLI for some time, hope the 1.01 bugs get resolved any time soon.

are you sure your camera is correctly positioned?

I find my tracking is all over the place if my camera position is off even a little ...... best for me has been 5 feet in front of me, and about 1 foot above the level of the mask itseelf, and the camera lens pointed down slighty so straight at the headset

Try putting the camera below eye level, with it at the top of a screen i kep loosing sync, but from peoples experience on the Rift forums, a lot more people have had much better luck at or below eye level.

I have mine sitting on my desk below my center screen and I dont remember it ever losing sync since it has been there.

Thanks for the advice.
I moved my camera from the top of my screen to my desk.
No luck, problem still there.

Also I could play with SLI on with previous versions of the game and older nvidia drivers.
For now I should better stay from SLI until the game releases, I also experience much less judder without SLI in gamma...
