dk2 graphics fury !!

Hello all ,
I am desperate ...
I successfuly configured my dk2 , played , everything was fine .
Now when I want to get bac into the game I can hear the sound from the game but I only see a black screen
Looks like my graphic settings are mixed up .

I have tried everything , nothing work .

I was using a triple screen display nvidia surround so far without any issue ...

Any suggestions ?

Thanks !

Couple things to try ...

1. Restart oculus service and drivers... I recommend bilagos app for this
2. Check your rift is calibrated properly. Sounds stupid but I've thought it was broken plenty of times, only to realise it was backwards! :p

Also try unplugging your extra monitors and ensure the dk2 is being picked up as a monitor in NVIDIA settings.

This! It is good practice to start right here as Slackr is saying. If you see it as a 2nd monitor and when you go on the Oculus config tool and it recognizes your camera you should be able to launch. If you are still getting the black screen at that point take your mouse and click the windowed box that says client in your tool bar

I had a similar issue and the tips others have given you are all very good. In my particular experience, it was just a matter of making sure the Rift settings along with my monitor were correct. What I did to fix this was:

1: Make sure Rift is in Extended mode and set as the secondary screen.
2: Open E: D from the primary monitor
3: Go to settings and set the monitor to Secondary
4: Set your preferred graphic settings and switch the refresh rate to 75Hz.
5: Click Apply & everything should be perfect on the Rift.

Hope this helps or someone else's helped. Either way, I hope you got back in the game.

ok.....

Thanks to everyone for your replies. I was able to fix the issue after 2 hours of fighting .
I think the issue comes from my triple screen set up ... The only way I found to fix the problem was to go into display setting under thr frontier development folder and change the fullscreen setting from 1 to 0 .

I was then able to launch the ED client in windowed mode and thus able to go into graphic setting and (re) configure evrything back ...

Ok now would you be able to direct me to the thread talking about ingame optimization ? I can barely read the text while playing with the rift which is kind of annoying .
Also do we need to disable AA ?

thanks !

(sorry , english is not my native language as some of you might have noticed .... )

-I am running an NVidia 970. I run all settings on Medium, but with AA turned on (in-game settings). I can use high settings for everything but inside the stations... so I just run medium+AA, which still looks amazing.
-You will get used to the pixel density before long, and you wont even see the screen door soon.
-Make sure you are running a pure green HUD color. The green pixles are a LOT smaller on the screen, so they will be sharper
-Don't forget, the image is sharpest right in the middle, so make sure you point your OR right at whatever you're reading. don't use peripheral vision as much as you want to.

so ...

hello again
I tried to follow some recommandation found on this forum, I have created a custome profile in my nvidia panel 2560*1440 and tried to use it in ED ..

Well I was getting shuttering like hell ..... and now I can not even get back into the game ....
After clicking on launch I can see the tracking camera shutting down and after this I am getting a blck screen .... with a super nega slow PC ..

Is there a simple way to change the configuration back to what it was before or start the game without the DK2 anymore ?

thanks

My game client goes black when I start the game, then tab out of it too soon.

It doesn't come back until I restart the game. Don't know if that's part of your problem, but something to consider.
