DK2 steam vr Issue

So after taking about a year break for ED I jumped back in managed to get my DK2 setup and running ED with Steam VR. Everything was working fine for about 1 day, now it seems like i need to reboot every time I launch ED or steam will launch Big picture (I think) and overlay it on top of ED. I cant seem to close it or get any input working with it, I have tried using my Mouse and keyboard, SHIFT + TAB, x-55, and x-box 360 controller.

So does anyone know how to stop this or how to close out steam's overlay? Sorry if I am missing something obvious but sadly google has failed me with this issue.

PS: also is there a way to use Steam vr and have it launch ED in 64 bit? it only wants to launch the 32 bit version for me.

My setup:
Rift runtime - 0.8 (pretty sure)
Windows 10 Home 64 bit
AMD Radeon HD 7700 (I think it runs the rift on Hopes and dreams)

Do not run Elite from Steam. Find the Elite Dangerous folder something like: C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\EDLaunch, and run EDLaunch.exe

You do not need to run SteamVR or VR in Steam prior to launching Elite. Elite will find and activate the files it need on its own.

....and that did it. Thanks man I kinda feels stupid I did not try that first. Guess I figured it had to be something more complicated.
