Update: Submissions closed, stay tuned for results!
Hey everyone, with DLC-teasing season upon us, I wanted to propose a new competitive style of DLC guessing game to whet our appetites, so that even those who are sure their personal wishes won't be fulfilled have a reason to follow along! It's a cross between the ever-popular wishlist and "bingo" formats, with the addition of a points system to quantify a winner while allowing for more than just animal guesses (I am optimistic that this is different enough to warrant a new thread?). Just be sure to read the rules carefully! I tried to balance things to allow myself to grade the animal guesses somewhat objectively, but other things like update features or pack theme will have to be pretty subjective, sorry. Keep in mind that it is all in good fun!
Submissions will close as soon as Frontier releases the first concrete teaser for the pack as a whole or any animals, most likely during or just before the livestream on March 26th. I will update the thread to announce its closure, any submissions added or edited after that point will not be counted. In the case of a tie, earlier submissions (including time of last edit) will be given the kudos.
Keep in mind that your answers can be completely unrelated to one another, they do not have to fit a single DLC theme
Rules and Grading
Scenery (2 slots, up to 10 points based on accuracy and specificity)
Update features
Nature (5 slots, 5 points per)
Here's a sample submission based on how I would fill it out (obviously since I am judging, I won't be participating otherwise):
May Frontier be in your favor, and remember to account for their taste, not necessarily your own!

Rules and Grading
Name/Theme (2 slots, up to 10 points based on accuracy and specificity)
Type (Animal, scenery, or the new "combo" style, 10 points)
Animals
- Guesses MUST point to a particular species (or subspecies), but by default I will also grant half credit if any added animal is more closely related to your guessed species than any animal currently in-game (must at least be in the same order)
- You can also broaden your guess by listing some combination of taxonomic group (no broader than order) and a biome and/or continent (according to in-game filters) so that the category is currently unrepresented in game. I will grant half credit if (and only if) any added animal fits in this category, regardless of relation to the particular species named. Do still name a species within this category to get full credit
- Good:
- Waterfowl (Tropical), white-faced whistling duck
- Mute swan (our current waterfowl) is not tropical, so this category is currently unrepresented. Half-credit for any Tropical waterfowl, no credit for any non-Tropical whistling ducks.
- Ocelot
- Half-credit for any Leopardus cat
- Ibis, scarlet
- Half-credit for any pelecaniform added, functionally the same as just listing "Scarlet ibis"
- Waterfowl (Tropical), white-faced whistling duck
- Poor/ambiguous:
- Duck, white-faced whistling
- Ducks are not a singular, taxonomic group, so you would only get credit for waterfowl more closely related to the whistling duck than swans
- Antelope (Indian), nilgai
- India already has an bovid/bovine (wild water buffalo), antelope is not really a taxonomic term, and India is not a continent. Defaults to credit only for close relatives of the nilgai.
- Fanged "deer", Siberian musk deer
- Several actual deer, mouse-deer and musk deer all fall under this category, but are not closely related. Only musk deer would receive credit
- Duck, white-faced whistling
- Good:
Habitat (14 slots, 14 points for slot #1 down to 1 point for slot #14)
- 10 bonus points will be awarded if your #1 slot guess ends up being the headliner of the pack!
Exhibit (2 slots, 10 points total)
- For "mixed" exhibit guess (ex. mixed parrots, mixed hummingbirds), you will only get full credit if multiple species get added. Otherwise it is half credit unless you name the specific species added.
Update features
Major (2 slots, up to 10 points based on accuracy and specificity)
- Think on-par with walkthrough exhibits, interactive habitats, deep diving
Minor (5 slots, up to 5 points per)
- Think updated compatibility, enrichment, colormorphs, remasters, small behaviors
- You don't need to name a particular species, I only need to be able to distinguish it from unrelated plants and in-game relatives
