DLC Predictions

So with al the new DLC info and leaks for the new DLC launched at the 8 of December
My animals predictions are:

Gray Seal
King Penguin
Giant Otter
Californian Sea Lion
Atlantic Walruss
Asian Small Clawed Otter
African Penguin
Beaver

I really hope we get more than 4/5 animals, so I thought 8 would be a pretty nice amount of animals. Let me know what you think

I would easily pay $20 - 20€ for such a pack with a couple more aquatic enrichment items and scenery. Nice list of animals.

6-8 seems like the number of animals most people request on social media. It's not as scarce as the 4-animals DLCs but not big enough to be considered a full expansion. 8 animals/DLC would be 24 per year; therefore, ~48 more animals to come until they stop creating PZ content. I really wish we had that

However, I have the impression we'll get 4 again for next DLC, 6 at most.

I'm wholly expecting 4 habitat animals for the next DLC no matter what. They might increase the amount next year for the new roadmap but who can really say?

I'm more curious about how they handle the exhibit animal. Since they're going with freshwater as well as saltwater animals (assuming the giant otter is indeed included), we might see a turtle of some kind perhaps.

Hopes: 5 semi-aquatic animals - I think an exhibit animal wouldn't be able to be done and I hope they give us 5 not 4:
Sea Lion
Walrus
Grey Seal (leaked)
King Penguin (leaked)
Giant Sea Otter (leaked)

I wouldn't say no to other seals or penguins though! Harbor/Harp/Leopard/Waddel/Hawaiian Monk Seals and Rockhopper/African Cape/ penguins would all be welcome.
For some reason, I have no desire to have an Elephant Seal in the game though. Which is odd. but I wouldn't miss it one bit.

Also if they were to throw in some more otters, a beaver and the capybara I likely would be thrilled.

I'm assuming there will be four and I would guess that the fourth would be a sea lion.

Of course I'd be delighted if there are more than four and given that this is a significant development it is not impossible. And something like a capybara would be amazing. But I would rather not be disappointed so I will stick with expecting just four.

I get you, but its a zoo game and they cant release a cool aquatic pack with only 4 animals. That would be a shame. I would pay more for more animals

They can. I hope they won't but they totally can. I would happily pay for more animals too but I think it's sensible to keep expectations low and be surprised rather than get excited about something that might not happen.

I have to agree with @markun id only expect four or so animals. Anything more is a bonus. I have complained about some things on this forum but I must say dlc size has never been one of them. Sure I’d like more just as much as the next guy but oh well. Besides this new animation is far more important to the game and was probably not very easy to accomplish. This really opens the door for this game now. But regarding pack size I’m sure someday we may get a all animal pack featuring 6-7 animals as Planco did with ride packs.

I think I responded to your reddit post already, but I'll reiterate what I said there, here:

I would be very surprised if the California sea lion is not the last animal, due to it's abundance in captivity and popularity amongst zoo guests. The Arctic pack did not have an exhibit animal, and I doubt they will add mini aquarium tanks just yet. I would love a turtle with a brand new exhibit biome to suit it, but I don't expect it. I think four animals is, unfortunately, our reality.

That being said, if we are fortunate enough to get 5 or 6 animals, I would guess that it would be the Asian Short-Clawed otter and Cape Penguin (aka South African penguin) due to their abundance in captivity and popularity. They would also be able to use the same rigs and animations as the Giant otter and King penguin, which I am personally considering as confirmed animals due to all the circumstantial evidence. Of course, that also operates under the assumption that those three animals will all be in the same pack, probably called the "Aquatic pack" or something, but who knows, it could just be the Gray seal and King penguin, plus two unknown animals in a "Marine pack". We'll have to wait and see.

Side note: If those three animals are in fact all going to be in the same pack, it will be interesting to see how Frontier decides to reveal the remaining unknown animals. Will they do one animal a day, like the South America and Arctic packs? Or will they reveal them all at once, like the Australian pack?

That's a great list, I think at least there should be 1 sea lion (Otariidae) and 1 true seal (Phocidae), and walrus are a nice addition. But only 1 penguin and 1 otter... Give me at least 2 species of each! We could easily name 3 species for each of the 3 groups (seals, penguins, otters), making a big pack of 9.

So, I would add to your list: Sea otter and/or any non-giant river otter + African/Humboldt penguin and/or any rockhopper penguin

I'm just going by the 4-5 animal format they'd been doing. I'd love to see another otter - either the North American River or Asian Small Clawed. another Penguin - either the Cape African or Rockhopper, and another seal - Harp (those babies!!!!) or Leopard. But you know, the rigs will now be done (assuming is indeed the release) and that leaves the door open for modifications to the rigs to bring other species of these animals in.

I'm guessing that the DLC will be 4 animals (as usual), with Grey Seal, Giant Otter, King Penguin plus one more, which I don't expect will be very similar to the others (Frontier seem to like diversity - e.g., only one macropod in the Australia pack) - so not another seals or sealion, not another penguin, and not another otter. I'd also guess that they'll try to have geographic and climatic variation - the three animals cover Giant Otter: South America (Tropical), Grey Seal: Europe (Temperate or Taiga?), King Penguin: Subantarcitic (Tundra?). The missing locations are, therefore, Australia (unlikely since we got stuff in the last DLC, although I'd love if we got it (platypus?); Asia (I think the Sun Bear will be FLC with the 1.4 patch, so maybe not Asia either, which leaves Africa (Strong possibility, although Africa already has a strong roster) and North America (although the Grey Seal is N. American too). ... So probably Afrcian or North American - quite likely from an existing rig... maybe a crocodillian i.e., Nile crocodile or Alligator although both biomes are taken (unless you class Nile croc as (primarily) desert / grassland (but also tropical)... which would be reasonable. (note: this would also explain why the SW croc is the only thing that can use the new feeder, since it's rig would be the likley base of the Nile Croc, or Alligator - it'd be very surprising if the new animals couldn't use the new item.

Totally dont mind having all 8. I would add Leopard Seal and elephant seal.

I’d say 🦫 beaver 🦫

Would love to see beaver but I think it could just as well fit in American or Europe dlc. Once they will have those diving mechanism working, nothing stops them to include diving animals in different kinds of dlcs so for the 4th spot I would love to see a sea lion.

IF there would be 6 animals (but I am doubtful) I would go for:
  • Grey seal
  • King penguin
  • Giant otter
  • California sea lion
and then for re-using the rigs:
  • Asian small clawed otter
  • Smaller species of penguin (African maybe)

Would be very nice pack while it woul allow them to reuse rigs for more animals. Then they could add beaver, platypus and other things to a different packs.

Would be cool to have 8 animals but they say it will only have 5 so here are the 5 animals I want:
1. California sea lion
2. Mississippi alligator
3. Monk seal
4. Capybara
5. Nutria

Yea well, I really hope california sea lion can be introduced in some other occasion then. Never knew I will be so let down by not including an animal in video game, lol. I took a hit by no capybara in SA and no tas.devil in Australia, but this one is hard on me a bit.

WE NEED THIS:

I know which animals will come out, they are the king penguins, the giant otter, the gray seal, the dwarf caiman and a vivarium animal, the diamond turtle.
