DLC Teaser Discussion

I get a South/Central America vibe. I think the theming is cool, but it’s coming across a bit too theme-park-esque at the moment. Still, it’s a way to make it “interactive” for these teasers.

Assuming it is a South American DLC, I’d love to have:

  • Harpy Eagle
  • Jaguar
  • Jaguarundi
  • Capybara
  • Ocelot
  • Howler monkey
  • Squirrel monkey
  • Toucan
  • Macaw
  • Sloth
  • Andean Bear
  • Andean Condor
  • Vicuña or Guanaco (but not both)
  • Tamarins - cotton top or lion would be cool
  • Coati
  • Maned wolf
  • Wooly monkey
  • Giant Anteater
  • River otter
  • Mara
  • Elephant seals
  • Caiman
  • Eyelash viper
  • Vampire bat
  • Jamaican fruit bat

So many parrots, hummingbirds, small mammals and invertebrates to think of too! I don’t know how likely birds are, but it would be amazing to have them, even if their animations were somewhat limited.

I think ten would be a good number of animals, but we’ll see what Frontier have been able to do, I’m sure they will all be amazing quality!

Theme wise, Aztecan or super colourful Latin American buildings would be amazing. But I’m most interested in new foliage, log pieces, rocks, vines, etc.

Certainly a junge/rainforest DLC. I really hope we get jaguars. I hope it's more of a general rainforest pack so we can get rainforest animals from all around the world, not just SA. I hope it's a bigger DLC because the rainforest has so many diverse animals and beautiful flora. It has so much to offer. I'm so excited and can't wait to get my hands on it!

There’s been a bit of discussion in the announcement thread

True, but it was a good idea to seperate it from their, I guess. The discussion is getting lively over there and is a bit distracting from the free update.

I'm also certain for a south america vibes. Back in the days, when I read articles about data mines (before I knew that Frontier basically hates it), there were some animals that could fit that dlc as well. Much like the arctic animals were already in parts in the base game. So it will be the next DLC that will be a complete surprise for me,I guess. ^^

At first I found the new marketing strategy wuite interesting, but now I have to agree, that it's too themeparky and I'm a bit worried. However, I still think it could very well be just marketing or based on new episodes for the career mode. It's a Planet game at the end,so what the player does with new pieces is up to them. I just hope we get more than four animals this time. A bigger dlc at a higher price point would be very much appreciated.

Bo mentioned on twitter that it's all base game pieces in the screen. She's probably right, though I'm sure the torches are arctic. That indeed speaks for "just marketing" and not an adventure dlc. Guess those two fellas there will find themselfs in the jungle by the begin of april. Not thinking there will be a DLC announcement before wednesday, as the "march overview" is already done.

I wouldn't be too worried about their teasers. They might add some "adventurous" stuff/pieces here and there but I'm pretty sure the main focus will still be the animals and probably a jungle theme.

Regarding how many animals and content the new DLC will have I also hope we get more than in the Arctic Pack, even if that translates into a higher price.

In the Arctic pack there were mainly 2 themes, 1-2 sets of rocks (can't remember), 2 new scenarios and 4 animals. For the new one I would love to have 10+ animals but unfortunately that seems unlikely. I would expect a similar amount of content to the Arctic pack, maybe with 2-3 more habitat animals and 2-3 exhibit animals, which may increase the price to 15€. Anything below 6 animals would be a bit disapointing for me.

The update threads seem to go the same way, lots of good responses, then people asking is the fix they wanted but not listed included, then just going way of topic. I assume this is the same

Looking forward to whatever the reveal is for a hopeful DLC, have not been in the game for about 3-4 weeks now as work has just gone stupidly crazy. Just thankful to be in a job still as many aren't and I am sure it will calm down soon and I can get back in. Still only used maybe 1/3 of all animals in the game.

These tweets actually drew me back to planet zoo. I took a break since feb 4th was fustrated with losing zoos to bugs. Played first time yesterday. I'm going to guess when they released a big patch last time we had a dlc artic pack with it.

We have a big patch coming so 100% a dlc and im going with south american region. The images have a indiana jones feel. Chances are we emerge in an untouched oasis with the animals to be released all living there.

Ye that seems to be a llama :D

I really hope we get a Vicuña or a Guanaco rather than a Llama, because unlike the Llama they are are not domesticated and actually fit within a zoo.

I would love it to be:

Cougar
Guanaco
Spectacled bear

Jaguar
Peccary
Capybara

Anteater
Manned Wolf
Marsh deer

3 animals out of 3 main South American habitats. I hope.

So probably South American DLC then - awesome. Ocelot (I would love a small cat), Spectacled Bear, Sloth!!!!, Capybara would be awesome too - they are so weird looking.

So, this is probably South American themed. With llamas essentially confirmed, I'm guessing we can also bank on jaguars. Capybaras are also a strong possibility.

I'd also like to think we have a shot at an ocelot or a coati; maybe a new world monkey and some exhibit animals. I'd love an andean condor or a parrot, but... That would have to wait until there's another pack with aviaries or what have you. Anteaters, maned wolf, and peccaries would be fun too.

We'll probably wind up with another tapir and a caiman (both of which I would be into getting--but I'm just hoping for a bit more than that in this particular update).
