DLCs: Ride packs by decade

In addition to my combined wishlist from a while ago, and to my reply in the DLC speculation thread, I thought I should post a more detailed version of my idea here.

For me, rides are the most important factor of the game, and as it is right now, PC2 has room for lots of improvements in that area, especially due to the current lack of older / gentle / family rides.

So this inspired me for this idea for decade-based ride packs. I aimed for historical accuracy when assigning these rides to a decade, but probably didn't always get it right. In general though, I think these are the times when rides became either available or had a significant rise in popularity. In addition, I also added a theme that became popular in a specific decade.

Vintage pack (1940s and earlier)
  • Small carousel ("Venetian carousel")
  • The Whip ("Swift Drifters")
  • Fun house (ideally modular, so that we can have mirror mazes by themselves)
  • Topiary Maze
  • Rowing boats
  • Possible new theme: 1920s
1950s pack
  • Roundup ("Centrum")
  • Minigolf
  • Pedal boats
  • Tracked boat ride for lakes (small boats with 6 seats and roof)
  • Arrow steel coaster with single cars (like Matterhorn Bobsleds)
  • Possible new theme: Traditional fairytales (loads of European parks started out around the 1960s with fairytale "automats", would be so cool to have these)
1960s pack
  • Octopus ("Rocktopus")
  • Paratrooper ("Free Flyer")
  • Tracked car ride ("Macchina Classica")
  • Walzerfahrt by Schwarzkopf
  • Calypso by Mack
  • Steel Wild Mouse
  • Possible new theme: Wild West (as a reaction to wild west movies being big in that era)
1970s pack
It was hard to narrow these down, so here's my full list
  • Troika ("Tri-Storm")
  • Powered Coaster
  • Gentle boat ride with own canal (like the one above for lakes: small boats with 6 seats and roof)
  • Shoot the chute
  • Ladybug coaster
  • 180° Cinema
  • Small "modern" roofed carousel with planes, elephants, etc. (idea: use plain cars and offer scenery objects to turn these individually into whatever we like)
  • Gentle open air flat ride with jets, elephants etc. that peeps can manually move upwards (same, plain version and fitting scenery objects for individual theming)
  • Suspended dark ride
  • Schwarzkopf Alpenblitz
  • Schwarzkopf Speed Racer
  • Parachute tower
  • Possible new theme: Scary (Ghost rides became fashionable in parks in the 1970s, in response to Disneyland's Haunted Mansion which opened in 1969)
1980s pack
  • Condor ("Rising Raptor")
  • Break Dance ("Power Moves")
  • Looping Starship by Intamin ("Blackout")
  • Rainbow by Huss
  • Peter Pan by Mack
  • Bobsleigh coaster
  • Coffee cups
  • Possible new theme: Space (the Star Wars effect on the theme parks around the world)
1990s pack
  • Balloon ride ("Aeronauts")
  • Tower of Terror ("Horror Heights")
  • Mad House
  • Simulator
  • Spinning Barrels
  • Possible new themes: Dinosaurs (The Jurassic Park effect)
New millennium
  • Trackless dark rides
  • Splash battle
  • Pedal monorail
  • Flying theater
  • The ride type from Danse Macabre in Efteling
  • Possible new theme: Pirates / Adventure
The most important for me however is not that rides come in exactly these categories, but that as many rides from the last century as possible (as listed above) do get into Planet Coaster 2.
It's so important for creating realistic historical parks, which is sadly near impossible with the current variety of rides.

I really love this idea. I'd like to like your post many times, but the darn forums won't let me............ Curses!!!

And expanding on this, wouldn't it be great if there was a Decades scenario level that ran in sync. It would start in the Vintage era and as each decade pack was released, a new chapter with new challenges and objectives would be unlocked for the park. A true story scenario. It would run for as long as these packs were released. I'd love it.
