Do all terraform candidates show up from fss?!

I'm in a system atm where I fssed and I swore there was only 1 terform and a waterworld. Or just a waterworld. I could be remembering wrong but do some bodies not show up for terraform until or unless you get close? Has anyone run into this. I was under the assumption it would always show from an fss right after jumping in.

By fss I mean using fss then looking at the second tab in the system map at all planets to find teraform candidate status.

As soon as the FSS run is complete, the System Map will always properly show all Terraforming Candidate Info.

At least for me, I never ran into any associated Problems. Distance has nothing to do with it, once tagged via FSS (or flyby close enough for that matter), the DSS part of the scan is done and all Data tagged automatically.
Hence, no further action required (Mapping the Planet for max. Credits being profitable but Optional).

Only the first terraformable discovered in a region will show a record in the FSS as you discover it, the same with WW and ELW, the next will swing by with no mention, however you can see the types in the FSS graph at the bottom, just not whether they are terraformable, you need to check the system map for that.

Would be nice if we had a graphic in the fss and the system map to indicate when a body was terraformable, similar to a landable body.

Just to add for completeness: unlike Earth-likes, water worlds may or may not be terraformable.

I've noticed that. I've never been able to tell if they are worth less though. I'm assuming the chart I saw had terraform on it so I'm assuming it's worth less without. But with the game not linking info at the cartography selling place conveniently. Even to just bring up the map or the maps info it's hard to see and figure out how the numbers work. They should really link that info to plant and system info somehow. Poeple would learn the game much faster that way.

I have EDDiscovery running when in the game so after finishing the FSA scanning I alt-tab and see at a glance if there are any terraformables in the system - much quicker than going through the system map.

It also shows some that I would never consider could be candidates - like an apparently small rocky moon of a non-terraformable HMC. (y)

I agree that it would be nice to see a terrafornable marker in the FSS. As has been mentioned, it only shows in the FSS the first time you see a terrafornable of that type in each sector.

Once you've scanned the system and gone into the system map (you mentioned going to the second tab in the system map) each planet will clearly state whether it is terrafornable. The line shows up next to the line saying whether you have mapped that planet or not. If the planet you have selected isn't terraformable, there won't be any text about terraformability. I.e. absence of text about terraforming means that planet isn't terraformable.

Hmmm, feel like I made a complete muddle of that but oh well.
