So, did anyone else realize Prime Minister Mahon's recent speech at Alioth University, the one purporting how much the Alliance values freedom and liberty, is a load of crap?
For someone who purports to be so devoted to the ideals of liberty and self-determination, Mahon certainly tolerates a great deal of despotism and tyranny within the the borders of his own Alliance. Is it not ridiculously hypocritical for Mahon and the Alliance to allow dictatorships, as well as other restrictive, undemocratic forms of government, membership into their supposed 'bastion' of freedom and liberty?
I can list numerous systems controlled by Alliance-sponsored autocracies if need be, but I invite all who care to go look for yourself in the Galaxy map. A couple of the systems I found are big enough to have their System View screen accessible to folks who haven't visited, providing yet more proof that there are specific autocratic factions with Alliance backing. So, Alliance backers, what say you? If you're just backing them for the benefits, then that's one thing. But if you want to role-play that you're some sort of 'liberator' or 'freedom-lover' for backing the Alliance in Powerplay, check your facts: You're not.
