Newcomer / Intro Do Asteroid Belt Scans get rewarded now?

In the most recent patches, the pay for exploration data was doubled. Scanning asteroid belts, however, did reward you with 0 credits before the patch. Two times 0 is still 0.

Has anybody tested whether there is a reward for scanned asteroid belts now?

IMHO, they should be more valuable than ice planet scans, because asteroids contain easily accessible ressources.

Well I'm on my way 'home' after a week of exploration so I will be able to tell you when I get back as I started off scanning them but then gave up as it got a bit too much if the return was zero.

No, asteroid belts still yield nothing. Even when you are a first discoverer your bonus is 0 credits.

Hi,

Shame really. As the OP says they could hold resources.

Would be good if the Devs changed it so you got a little something for their discovery, a little more for the scanning and then if you took a sample (Mining) and sold this along with the data got a nice bonus depending on the belts content.

Not too sure how much collecting of rocks I would do personally, but it expands exploring a little more and with the recent addition of Wings explorers could go out with miners.

Just a thought.

Regards

Sort of like a 'Prospector Bonus' - I like it. Maybe only make it worth it for certain pristine / rare belts so it isn't just a grind bonus for doing every belt...

Even a nominal sum like 10 credits would be something. It can be a little disheartening to scan a system and be told that there are 65 celestial bodies in it and when you start targeting them you find that 40 of them are asteroid belts
