The majority of times that I use the camera suite I get hit with the old "signal lost" blur-out screen. Not only is it annoying every time it happens (nudging the camera this way and that, waiting for a second each time to see if the image comes back), I feel it really hinders the full use of the camera suite. There are times I wanna get in really close to something, or get into a tight spot, or capture something from an interesting angle which could be against a wall, behind a railing, from the surface of an asteroid, etc. But because something is touching some part of the invisible box around the camera everything blurs out and ruins the shot.
My suggestions (ranked from most desired to least):
1. Do away with it entirely. So we clip through an object now and then. I don't mind! I want to explore the tight spots in asteroid bases, and the interior of those outposts with the ships on display in the showroom, and the little parks and plazas in the fancy starports. I want to get cool camera angles and take full advantage of the camera suite's capabilities!
2. Don't let the camera move into areas where the signal is lost. I would much prefer the camera movement coming to a halt than complete loss of the image.
3. Shorten the time it takes for the camera to "regain the signal." When I come out of the no-signal zone, it takes like a full second for the image to come back. So sometimes I move the camera. Then I have to move it more, then a little more, then decide to abandon the shot because there is no signal. The transition from no signal to signal could be way quicker like a tenth of a second.
