Do bigger thrusters make your ship more manuverable?

Just that, im trying to make my Cobra MkIII turn a bit faster but im not sure im mananging it.

Just wondering if thrusters would work, or if there was some other item?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, that's what bigger thrusters are there for. Also, more pips on "ENG". The outcome, as mentioned depends on the ship's current weight. With a given set of thrusters, a heavier or loaded ship will still turn slower than the lighter one.

There is a strong element of diminishing returns, as the cost of A-grade large thrusters is eye-popping.

Arguably a good pilot with D thrusters who uses blue zone, directional thrust, PIP management and possibly FAO, would be more effective than one with A thrusters who does not. The exception being boost speed which increases with better thrusters.

Remember as well that B grade are "Armoured or High Resilience" and have a weight penalty that can mess with your max jump range.

Interesting! Is that to say they take more damage before malfunction? Or is it just imaginative play on the fact they're heavier?

And then a good pilot with maximum possible class A-grade thrusters will be more effective than both. And higher cruise/boost speeds will allow him to be in full control of the situation, allowing to either chase down fleeng opponent, or flee himself if needed.

Yes. Also, the lighter your ship, the less lard has to be moved. So thick armour and possibly cargo will make your ship sluggish.

Supposedly they take more hits to damage. I haven't done testing to prove by how much :)

Absolutely agree :) My point was to say that outside of certain parameters, learning the optimum way to fly can increase your ship performance from base without spending huge credits. "A-spec" everything and a skilled pilot opponent is full-on "Game Over, Man!" as Hicks once said ;)
