Newcomer / Intro Do certain areas of the galaxy yield different star/body types?

Allow me to expand a little as the thread title isn't a complete question, really.

In some sectors of the part of the galaxy I'm in, such as IC 2602, you'll find a lot of non-KGBFOAM stars and therefore more icy/rocky bodies. If you go to PRAEA EUQ, you temd to find more fuel stars and greater variey of bodies.

I was wondering, as my exploration has been almost exclusively in the Inner Orion Spur, whether sectors such as, say, Hawkings Gap or Norma Expanse are more likely to yield a different percentage of star/body types. What sort of "stuff" do you see near the galactic centre?

Hope you understand what I'm asking! Finding it difficult to get my question across on one.

Aaaah! OK, thanks, yes, that helps! I was thinking that it was all more RNG so, overall, one sector would pretty much be the same as the next. I wasn't thinking about the Stellar Forge and the seeding of the galaxy - that's all a dark art to me.

There are differences in age and composition in various parts of the galaxy, which can result in over-abundance, underabundance or even absence of certain star and planet types. Perhaps the most striking example visible at the macro-scale is the distribution of helium-rich gas giants. They only exist in the spiral arms - not in the Core, and not in the gaps between the arms.
