As someone that has studied world religions, i would say not one cares specifically about MP games (as in it is never mentioned in any text).
However ones behaviour in MP games (and life in general) probably has some relevance to many of them.
Agreed. As one who has studied some Advaita Vedanta( a form of Hinduism ), specifically Ramana Maharshi and Nisargardatta Maharaj, I believe the objective world and your physical body is an illusion..... matter only being a by product/creation of pure consciousness. The key to bursting the illusion of an objective world is to be aware that one is conscious of that world and to focus on that never changing witness/observer rather than the external world.
Yeah, right.
So..... off I go into computer games where your persona is literally an illusion. I often use my playtime as a mental exercise to reinforce that what most think as real life, to the Enlightened, is yet just another game/dream/illusion.
I would also like to point out how prevalent video game addiction is where a game addict's avatar has so subsumed their real lives that they destroyed their families and livelihoods.
The ambiguity of perception is fascinating.
P.S. The concept of heaven or eternity.....forever .....nothing ever dies or nothing ever changes.... hmmmm.....could potentially be very boring. I don't think our egoic minds could stand it. Wonder if I'll ever find out.
