Do completed missions expire?

So, I finished a pirate hunting mission at Eps Indi, but didn't collect the reward before heading off to Fedmich to do the recent community goals there. Finally made it back to Schneider station tonight, only to find that the mission is gone from my transaction menu. Thus the question--do missions that you've completed eventually expire if you don't collect them, or did I run into a bug? And before you ask, no, I haven't lost my ship since doing the mission. Thanks!

I've had that happen before. As far as I can tell, it happens when there's an update. So claim your missions before 2.3 releases if you're got any hanging around.

In case you are talking about a CG, if you don't collect its reward, after some time (a week I think), the mission is removed from your transaction tab, and the reward is automatically transferred to you.

Except for CGs, you need to claim the rewards before the timers expire. The mission is only completed when you go back to the station where you got it and claim it.

Thanks. I don't remember seeing a timer on pirate hunting missions after you eliminate the target (they give you 24 hours for the kill, but this goes away after the pirate or deserter is destroyed), but I'll check next time. The mission did stick around for most of the week--I kept seeing it in my transactions. I'm not sure exactly when it disappeared.

Hi there,

For technical reasons missions expire 7 days after date of issue. Usually this is not an issue that directly affects players, as missions tend to have failure timers shorter than this and people tend to hand them in soon after completion, but I'm sorry you've been caught out by an edge case here (Looks like Massacre type missions don't visibly display a timer after you've completed the active portion of the mission).

I'll bring this up with missions design and see if we might be better off signposting this better in future.

Thanks,
Dom

(p.s. There are exceptions to the 7 day rule in place for a small group of mission templates such as the long distance tourism and ruins missions. For these missions there is still an upper limit but is a little longer)

That explains it. Thanks for the reply. And while I'm 1.4M CR poorer, I'm also wiser 🙄. Next time, I'll know not to tarry!

Is this still the case; is this why 200M credits worth of completed wing massacre missions vanished from my list?

Also lost 200M now for massacre missions as i did go to holiday for 9 days and no timer was shown after finishing the missions. Seems to be a complicated fix as it is still open after 6 years.

7 days? Lol. If I get 96 ships to kill and need at least 10 minutes for one I'd need 4 full 4 hour sessions doing nothing else than shooting targets up. How are players supposed to ever complete this stuff? Ever heard of real life?
