Horizons Do Devs Read

As the Title states do the dev's or software engineers or moderator's spend much time reading the forums and checking why groups or players complain so much well I can confirm that I do not believe that they do. My group has been trying to get our faction in game for two years so next time any one asks what is the average time to get a player faction in game I think they should say you will have to wait and wait and wait and in the end after waiting and complaining they will say your player faction is rejected. So it could be a few weeks or a few months or never I could show why but I am just going to add a link from a thread as an edit lets see what happens, because if any moderators or DEV's respond I will be very very very shocked and amazed. And to show how shocked and amazed this will be the last time I ever log in to the forum I even tried to delete my forum account but apparently that's not allowed.

A link from one of the experts who no longer plays.

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/12266-Just-to-say-Thank-you

Links from a few groups or players that no longer play should be easy to work out why.

Thought I would add a few links because at the moment and for a long time now this is the only game I play fly safe every one and just for those I have seen in game yes I always play in open play and always try and say greetings from THE RANGERS even though we were never able to add our player faction not even after two years of trying.

Boy do I know how hard you have tried to get the RANGERS as a faction. I also don't care if I am censored because this is just shameful of Frontier. They also don't read anything on these forums IMHO otherwise they would not post such bug ridden code all the time and pay attention to the "beta" feedback.

So I can relax and wait fo 2020 or something until my recently registered player faction goes online? Anyone got something to say about average time from application to making an entry in a database?

While you are entitled to your opinion, i can tell you for a fact that FD do read forum threads. I can say this with confidence, because mods have a nice little feature whereby we can see who has read which threads ;)

Whether they think a thread needs a response, and whether making that response is worthwhile, is a different matter. We've seen how devs making responses are often completely twisted or misrepresented by some people.

Also, reading threads has nothing to do with quality of code. FD support read bug reports and pass the relevant ones on to the relevant devs and managers. The devs themselves can't sit reading the forums all day long, not if you want them to write code.

As for your player group taking 2 years to get into game, that is unfortunate, and can only presume there is some issue with what you are asking for. But only Brett can really comment on that.

or moderator's spend much time reading the forums

We are not employees of FD. We do have a channel to FD and flag important issues to them when we see them. Whether FD respond to those issues is not something we have any influence over. But yes, most moderators spend an abnormal amount of time reading the forums. Still, we can't be everywhere at once, and rely on reported posts to help us in our work.

Yeah - I am sure there will be an actual reason. And judging by the attitude and sour grapes demonstrated by the OP (and others) I would say FD have made the right decision. To be honest I personally don't see any benefit to the players of the game in general for there to be any player factions in-game at all. They just want to slowly but surely edge their way in so that they can do Eve-like damage to the game and the players in the long term. But of course this is just personal opinion and based on, well, not much really - I get that. But with all the complaining that goes on about it I just can't help but hear the Shakespearean quote of "The lady doth protest too much, methinks" in my mind. As a result I do question their sincerity. Feel free to flame me as much as you like - I won't be responding as I have no real evidence - just a gut feeling. If I were FD I wouldn't let them get the thin end of the wedge inserted either.

Not only do we read the forums but, shock horror, we also play the game frequently too.
So I am well aware of it's short comings and Frontier's constant work to address them.

Er sorry guys all you have done is proven the point you can read but as normal and as most of the responses prove no one ever READS the posts or checks the information, it took frontier two years to tell us we can not have what I have been able to discover is the oldest player faction in game that still plays ! and those that still play mainly play in open play. Two years because the DEV's software writers and software engineers never read the information please have a nice few years in ELITE I will be spending most of my time in the other game from now on.

And that's because the devs read I even got a thank you email from them thanking me for sticking with it, and was able to upgrade my account because I still have my INVITE to check it out and BACK them in KICKSTARTER if I wanted to yes I was invited to help did not search it or find it.

I will be playing both because sadly I have spent a lot more on ELITE than I should have i.e I do have four full accounts, and a lot more than I have spent on SC. But hear if you are a kickstarter all you did was help frontier create a big game, now all we are is the FORGOTEN believers of what we were hoping would be the only game worth playing for a long time. Sadly most of the forgotten have now realized they are going to have to wait a long time to get any were near the game we all bought in to.

Please feel free to respond again and why not simply ask the DEV's to read the post and check the information, or why do you not try and see if after two years you can work out why we are still not a player faction all the information you need is in my posts I even made it easy be providing all the links so you do not have to search for it.

Well there are some words there, I am sure it is missing some punctuation or something however.

I am not entirely sure what it is you are hoping to achieve, but good luck either way. :)

Sorry, but you really do need to take this up with Brett directly. I mean, we can poke him about it, but we can't give you any answers.

I really do not understand this expectation that people can treat the forum like Google. None of us have all the answers, not even Frontier.
