Do Distribution Centres still exist?

Last night, Famine system, over 12b pop, not a single distribution centre for farming DWEs. Did I just get unlucky?

Haven't seen any of that stuff in eons. I miss the random signal sources, not a fan of the new system.

yes, but very rarely.
i'm not sure what causing them to spawn or not, but i think, no large pad orbital station is one of the requirements.

Generally, the rule is the controlling faction needs to be in famine to see Distribution Centers.

Same same for any other state-based POI (e.g Threat 5/6 Pirate Activity; only appears when the controlling faction is in civil unrest.

Yes they are still out there. Cherbones should still have one, was there 2 days ago. Debris fields too.

Eta Coronae Borealis is the system in question, and it still doesn't have one, even cruising up to all bodies in the system (fortunately none of them too far away). And yes the controlling faction is the one in Famine. Must be just the way it works. I'll try other systems.

I was in one a week or two back, scanning for DWEs the old-fashioned way (thank the Far God for Jameson's Cobra!).

Looked for systems in Famine state in eddb, started to fly from system to system, had not too much trouble finding a Distribution Centre (I hadn't done this in a long time, and now I know why) once I remembered that they were POIs, not USSs.

Once I found one I scored one DWE drop in forty minutes. What was that I was saying about Jameson's Cobra?

For those who look for a DC (I have spent 3 hours searching): there is one in Ofayeka system, a bit far, 190k LS from the star.

I had no trouble finding one a week or so ago - just set map filters for Famine and de-select everything else. They can be difficult to see at first but they are there! Jump to one of the systems and check left panel for any Distribution Centres. Just don't forget your wake scanner!

You know all of those FCs you probably have filtered out of your contacts tab? They actually have a use! Lots of traffic to scan wakes.

Yes, I was in one a few days ago farming DWE. Not many famine systems though, I could only find two in the bubble!

Your problem may have been that Famine was not the full state of the system but only of one faction?

Holy crap I had never thought of that, had a gold mine of encoded materials, the worst to get, right under my feet and never realized!

I was getting the equivalent of about 1 per hour while RES farming. I was getting about 40 grade 4 data per hour just from the ships I targetted, which I traded across at 1 DWE
for 36 grade 4s. After a week of farming, I had 2 billion credits, about 20 DWEs plus 20 AECs as well as other grade 5 data, and totally full of manufactured materials.
