Do Geysers still give lots of materials?

I remember doing Tourist missions a long ago. There were always tons of materials at geysers and volcanic sites. Is this still the case?

I know at the fumaroles in 61 Cygni there are crystals you can shoot for materials. Though they don't seem to respawn on relogging, so they may have put a timer on that.

There are usually a good number of materials to be collected at these sites. And yes, there is a cool-down period before you re-harvest them.
But it's still a great way to collect a number of materials fairly quickly, as you won't find Randomly Spawned Rocks in that sort of concentration anywhere else.

Wow! Who knew? (Clearly not me.:D)

I always just swooped down low enough to scan the beacon and maybe cruise over the area quickly to see the spouts but never landed. I never knew there was anything there really worth landing for. I figured that once you've seen one geyser/fumarole you've basically seen them all.

I just might fit a buggy to my Orca next time I go out on a sightseeing run.

Yes, they should still yield unchanged amounts of G1-G5 Elements.

Just be aware that some ~40-50% of all documented Sites of Volcanism on Metal-Rich/High Metal Content/Rocky Planet types have vanished in V3.0. Only Rocky Ice/Icy Planets aren't affected.
So taking trips to known old locations could end up having no Volcanism anymore at the listed Coordinates.

Tourist beacons at Volcanism sites should have all been fixed, so there should be Volcanism right at their locations.

Organic and geologic features spawn 4 targetable structures that run from common to very rare and when shot give up the materials available on the planet according to the planet's content percentages.
Fumeroles, geysers, barnacles, giant pumpkins, bark mounds are concentrated locations for farming materials.
Plus they are often spooky and evocative places.

Same here, i'd like to ask a question about collecting these materials...do you need a refinery in your ship ar do you just collect them with the scarab ? And if the scarab is full, can you put these mat's in your cargobay ? Never used/landed a scarab before and i like to be prepared. I tried to find some reading about it for 2 day's now, but no answer about that.
I did'n know that you could land your ship IN a base and go outside w scarab either, so much to learn in this game you'll never get bored.
Succes you all O7

Does anyone know of a list with all known vent locations?

Read FalconFly's post above, i dont think a list exist already since the new game update.
The best you can do is read the missions in the passenger lobby & make a list from them, in every station you'll find some missions...maybe you must do some missions involving fumarols ect to see more of them. I have done some recently in ngere, buzhang & tphen slata, but never knew they had these tresors.

Yep, didn't have a clue until a few weeks ago. Had fun (!) seeing how high my SRV could get tossed up by the water jets. To be fair it needed a good wash. :D

Yep, I just cruise around the general area of the anomalies and wait for the crystals or cobble to spawn. Shoot them and they pop out goodies. Open your cargo scoop and scoop 'em up just like you would in space with your ship in a USS.

An similar alternative is brain trees. You need a ship with a decent jump range to get to the though. This spreadsheet can help you find sites with the mats you are looking for. Credit goes to cannon research for listing the sites.
