Do I even gain rank? -Empire questions

So, started with a new account, but I've been wanting to do the Robigo missions now. I need a certain rank in order to accept the missions.
it says Minimum Reputation "Cordial", right. And the bar is like 98% full (Rank bar) so I would assume a couple missions would do for the Empire, right?
I think I've done 25 now. And yes, they're Empire missions and it said Medium rep and infl on all of them. But I see absolutely no gain in rank what so ever.
This "bar" https://gyazo.com/15547d56a924fdb78641492171023064 Hasn't moved the slightest from all the missions with ++ ++ things in rep, and infl.
(Yes, I am doing the mission in a Empire controlled system.)
Please, can somebody tell me what's going on?[blah]

From my understanding the rep/rank gains have been hit hard.
So like 1-2% per mission, plus it's rounded so you may have to do a few to get that 1% jump.

Trust me...been working for my fed rank since june....so far to go

Rep progression does seem to be much slower now than it used to be. Which honestly I think is a good thing, at one time it was really ridiculously easy to shoot up the ranks in a couple of days.

The bar in your image is your reputation with a minor faction. It will increase if you complete missions issued by that faction. If they control the station/outpost you are at you can also increase your rep by selling exploration data, claiming bounties, and buying/selling on the commodities market. If you want the high-paying missions from a minor faction in Robigo you will probably have to complete their low-paying missions first.

Completing missions for Empire-aligned minor factions will raise your rank and reputation with the Empire, but that alone won't persuade the guys in Robigo to offer you better work.

But how shall I get the rep in Robigo in order to grab the missions if theres no missions I can do for them?

OP, assuming (it's been a long time) that Robigo has Universal Cartographics, just plot an economic route to nowhere, go in a circle honking a discovery scanner for an hour, and hand in. Your rep with the controlling faction of the station will climb quickly.

Thanks, I'll see what I can do!

I'm not entirely sure but I think the ranking system is broken on the low end. On my second account I ran into roughly the same issue trying to unlock the outsider rank for the Empire. I'm not too sure it's bugged since I have ranked up to viscount on my main account recently, but until I saw this thread I thought it was just me being an idiot.

Maybe ticket it to be on the safe side.

i think the key is the more minor factions of the major superpower u get allied with it does seem to have a scaling effect that gets rank up quicker, its to encourage u to move around and interact with more of their space

I think you are confusing Superpower rank (Empire, Federation rank) with local faction reputation. Many missions require cordial/friendly/allied rep with the LOCAL faction. It has nothing to do with your Empire or Federation rank.

All you need to do to gain rep with a local faction is do a few missions for them, whatever ones they do offer. Or you can sell exploration data and that will gain rep with the controlling faction. So will turning in bounties.

Once you get to cordial (which takes like 2 missions) more missions open up, and then you're on your way.

Sticking around a single system and gaining rep there opens up a lot more missions for you there.

Ya, something is really broken with Rep. I ran missions all day today and yesterday with minor factions trying to get a Federal Rank Up mission to have a chance of showing up in more than one station so I wouldn't have to log out/log in to get one. Nothing changed. I did a bunch of them. I tried donation missions, too. The donation missions only seem to work for the Federals or Empire. I haven't seen that they work at all with the individual factions. Maybe I just didn't give enough. I don't know.

Yea, I just thought that the "Empire" missions would require a higher rank of their ranks. My Empire "rank" is stuck at "100%" but I haven't gained a rank. I moved over to Robigo now to scan stuff and see if I can get the rank needed for the missions (Local Rep)

Bountyhunting in that system (only with kill-warrant scanner since it's anarchy) or trading goods to/from the station this faction ownes.

But seriously? Robigo is dead, there are no special mission that you don't find on any other mission board and they got boring as well low payout.

But if you really wanna do them....

I'm in a similar boat. If they are going to make it such a soul-crushing grind, could they at least make sure it's working properly? This is inexcusable and one of the many things that should be fixed before they release more content.

I make 18-29 mil avg per. Run with my ASP Explorer. 3-5 missions.... That's why I use Robigo, but I'm on my alt account right now, and trying to get that up and running.
EDIT: A run can take about 45 m- 1 h

True, it's pretty odd.
