Do I get anything for just a honk?

Normally I honk, detail scan star and look at the system map for anything interesting.

For the exploration CG I was wondering what is the minimum required? Just a honk or honk and scan main star?

Does a honk on its own have any value?

I'm not one for this CG rubbish, but as far as i know if youve got an Advanced Scanner & 'honk' then you get 1/6 of the value of a Detailed Scan for objects in the system.

I'm sure I'll be corrected by someone.

For exploration CGs just the honk counts, any body scans (detailed or otherwise) are for your own profit only, they don't count toward the CG as far as I know.

Yes I'm inclined to agree. You should get more credit for some proper exploration in the CG.

No point exploring without taking a decent look.

I detail scan everything except Asteroids & Ice/Rock worlds, unless there's just a few in the system. Though I'm not committed to CG's or PP at all. If it takes me an hour to scan a system, so be it!

Others may have different views to me.

But Im sure that someone put that a 'honk' value was 1/6 of a detailed scan.

Not that long ago, I got my first 'first discovered' IN the bubble.
Just honking gets you some credits. Exploring the star will give some more
But looking at the planets and moons will bring most of the cash in the end.
Unfortunately Belt's don't and I don't know the reason why.
I cashed in to surveyor rank within the bubble. Now I took my first trips out
and keep beeing exited. Scanning a couple of terraformable and waterworlds
(mostly others left behind by the honk--scoop--jump process).

Be warned: Exploring by cr/h ratio isn't giving any satisfaction. You are to take your time.

That's true Miklos....you don't do Exploration for a credit grind...unless you can discover a Thargoid Mother ship & squeeze it into your cargo racks!
