Engineers do i just jump and honk for felicity rep?

so I want to unlock grade 5. I am at grade 3 so far. so I am off exploring. do I just jump and honk, or is it better to scan planets etc on the way? also how much exploring would I need to get from grade 3 to grade 5?
I also heard she will sell me a better drive. I am in my asp, but don't see an option to buy a better drive.

And, once you have the data, what do you do next? Turn in anywhere? Turn in @ farseer base? somehow "donate" to her?

Sell it to her via Universal Cartographic, as you would any other exploration data.

enhanced thrusters are only available for imperial courier, imperial eagle , sidey , hauler, adder, eagle and viper mk3 which is a shame imo. as it means imperials get the fastest ships. dave braben assures me theres no bias though.

Standard exploring preferences apply.
Scanned bodies generate more credits and rep, but if you have to travel a long way to make the scan, is it worth the extra time. A conundrum for each individual explorer. I tend to only detail scan interesting stars, potential water worlds and earth likes. Others scan everything.
Another commander said its about 10 million of data for felicity, and around 20 million worth for Elvira for Tier-5
You just use the standard cartographic menu at the engineers stations.
I think the enhanced drives are only for the small fighter class ships but I'm not sure on this.

Read someone wrote that he unlocked tier4 and that he had exploration data worth 2mio

Primary goal for engineers achieved! (Grade 5 FSD upgrade)[/h] Oh yeah!, spent all weekend playing nearly non stop in order to see if i could upgrade my Asp with a grade 5 mod for the FSD, i was lucky that i had around 1.5-2mill or so of exploration data saved up just for increasing my grade access (thankfully they enabled this option), this left me at grade 4 with 4% into grade 5.

just to put it into perspective: around 10 mio exploration data will bring you from 0 to grade 5 access - around 7-8 mio for level 3 to 5. 120-150 neutronstar scans, if first discovery.

this is for sure wrong. i went from 0-5 with around 10 mio.
