Do I need DLC to have fun or to unlock the game's full potential?

So recently I have just bought the game from a steam sale. But the main question that I have been wondering is, do I need to purchase DLC to be able to unlock the game's full potential and have fun in it? As the DLC cost some what the price of the main game (at the current discounted price). And if so, which DLC is the most recommended to buy and the most worth it? And lastly, am I able to build an awesome theme park just by using the base game items and steam workshop assets with no DLC included? Looking forward to the replies and ty for reading this.

You absolutely can, since we did the same before the Spooky Pack came out. You are missing out on some Themes but you still can build a proper Park :D

My advice is this: Look up some Videos of the Packs in Action, then decide if you want to buy them. For me there was no question about it, since i wanted more :D But if you are just starting out, the sheer Number of stuff can be overwhelming. I recommend getting your Feet wet in the Base Game first, then maybe look at some DLC. If you are new, and you buy everything at once it can be intimidating to deal with it all.

Thank you for your advise! Seems like I will first explore everything in the game than move on to decides whether should I buy any additional DLC.

I would also recommend to consider how the game performs on your computer. If it´s not good, count that DLC´s will not improve it (it will probably do exact opposite). If the game runs too slow for you and gets laggy, I would think twice about buying any more content for it...
