Do I need PayPal?

Hi there all, I did try to find informations about Payment with PayPal but did not find or had any luck.

I would Love to purchase or backe for the Alpha, only thing is I do not have a PayPal account. Do I need a PayPal account to be able to backe or just a CreditCard?

Sorry if this question was asked bevor, just did not find anything on the Forums.

Hi Gometzler, at the moment PayPal is our only payment option but we will be adding additional options in the new year. That said, you can do a standard card transaction through PayPal, without actually registering for a PayPal account.

Cool thx for the info, and sorry about the double post.

Will try tu buy it now :D

Not working need to have a PayPal account.... :( I am not able to purchase the Alpha only if I register with PayPal it's possible.

I payed whit VISA card directly no need to go thru paypal not sure if it changed after the new store got opened tho.

I do not have this Option to pay with my CreditCard take a look at picture I made.

If I recall correctly, you can still pay with your card but the option to sign up with Paypal ("to make your next checkout faster") is just an option you get during the process. You don't have to sign up in order to pay, it just means you have to put all your card details etc in every time unless you do.

I do recall the same. I upgraded my pledge twice and along with the original purchase I never gave any card detail to paypal.

I had some big trouble a few years back with PayPal and am always trying to make payments direct with my CreditCard. I do have an Account with PayPal but because of the Problems I have/had with this **** Company my account access is limited and am not able to add my CreditCard nor to make a Payment over PayPal. :(

You can not ask a family member or friend to do it for you? And you give the money directly to him

Good idea, :smilie: will ask my brother this evening. Thing is can't wait to try out the Alpha and help you guys. I am impatient like a child.

It appears that there is always a solution when you look hard enough - hope your brother helps so that you can join in the fun :D.

Congrats. I think "test" is the wrong word - you will get to play it (or at least a wee bit of it). :)

If you get a crash, you'll probably be the first. :)

It seams like the Alpha is quite polished and the way I am reading post's on the forum it will be a very good game. I missed Space Games so much and am waiting since years for a game like this. Now there are two Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen and I can be part of both of them :D

The reason I ever did buy something on steam is that they have iDeal. Normaly I buy in game store in our city with cash. Those apple store PSN MS point cards. Are realey nice.
No CC no Paypal. I don't buy on credit. Till now I don't bought any thing international. And I have no need to CC or Paypal.

So I guess to be able to play this I game I need a CC that a huge barrier for me.
Lucky for me I don't believe in Alfa beta experiences as they are not representive for the end result. So wait for the game reviews when the game is released.

I don't use credit cards on PayPal, I pay directly out of my bank. To me it's the same as cash or debit card.

They also have the handy (free) feature where I can choose to pay 14 days later. This is helpful as it gives you time to raise any disputes if things aren't as described before any money changes hands, but equally importantly, I can purchase things a week from pay day without paying credit charges. ;)
