Do I uninstall Elite: Dangerous Single Player Combat Training first?

Question....

Do I uninstall Elite: Dangerous Single Player Combat Training before attempting to install full game when released tomorrow?

I had the premium beta and back then it used the same launcher and just installed on top of the current install. I'm 99% sure the game will work like this now unless someone would like to correct me.

The only reason you might want to reinstall is if you want the game in a different place. Right now the game installs to wherever the launcher is so I personally have it installed in C:\Frontier on my SSD.

You can have both installed at once, they don't interfere with each other. They both install to the same general folder (EDLaunch), but further in, they separate into "COMBAT_TUTORIAL_DEMO" and "FORC_FDEV_D_1000" to avoid conflicts.

So, the real question is, how do I modify the launcher to let me download the gamma now so I don't have to wait?

Wait, you mean I will have a massive download tomorrow, along with all the other new players? No way. That would be terrible monkey-level design. I instead assume we have everything downloaded already and a simple switch will switch tomorrow, allowing access to the full game. That's what pretty much every early access title I ever played did, and is now the norm. Anything else would be stupidly, pathetically lacking foresight (and would doom the game to a bad start that it is unlikely to recover from).

I know you're kidding but to answer anyway, you don't. That's set server-side and is tied to your login. You probably don't want to even try if you want that login to continue to work :)

No preload... Wise decision.

I wonder if I'll have to set my keybindings again.

You can backup your custom keybinds, which is advisable.

look in

C:\Users\your_windows_login_name\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings

The file is called

custom.binds.
