Newcomer / Intro Do integrated graphics have a chance?

Hello everyone. I game on a laptop currently as I cannot afford to get a desktop, even though I do plan to get one as soon as I am actually able to. In the meantime however, I have what I have. It's not perfect, but it can actually run quite a few games surprisingly well. And others... not so much.

I struggle a bit with the graphics requirements given for traditional desktop computers, as my laptop is very flaky in following the requirements. Things I believe should run, might not run at all, and other things that I look and think "No chance in hell", end up running beautifully.

My current system runs Intel Integrated Graphics 4000 series. Does anyone know if the 4000 series will be able to work with this game? I don't mind if I must lower textures. So long as the game isn't literally blurry, and I can have a decent enough view distance, I can do okay. But I also don't want to buy Elite Dangerous yet if I'm going to be running it at less than 20 fps.

Any information is greatly appreciated, and if I can make it on, I look forward to seeing you all in the game ^_^.

Elite runs on my MacBook Air with integrated Intel 5000. Not perfectly, but reasonably. Turn everything down to low, set resolution as low as you can bear, but keep the draw distance turned up.

There are big differences between builds though - some Alphas ran slow, some Betas extremely fast, and some versions of Release introduced some horrible flicker that were later fixed and then came back again. Good luck with it though!
