I thought of this when upgrading from Cobra to Asp but then again who wants to leave a ship in a system many light years from where you may travel to?
If they implemented the ship delivery mechanic then it may be a goer but for now I would rather trade in.
Always keep enough for insurance though!
Are there no ship storage fees?
Keep your previous ships and store them. Do not sell any ships ever.
Then you will be much safer from the I lost everything due to bugs/mistakes issues.
Two god reasons for having ships all over the galaxy.
1. You have a bunch of cash stored in case of an emergency (I have 25 sidy's/Eagle's and Cobra's)
2. When you go to any shipyard you can instantly see how many LY other systems are away from you. I tend to buy a cheap ship at stations that stock all upgrades, or interesting places to visit. The ships act like a nav beacon. I also use the ships as shuttles between my Clipper & Type-7

I don't quite understand. I just save enough money for insurance.
And eventually we will have to pay for the storage of ships. I hope it is not too expensive, but it might be a waste of money to store a ship you're not likely going to reuse anyway.
I do plan to keep my Viper though. It is a wonderful fighter craft. I also still have a Freagle somewhere. I will probably never fly it.

Once you get in a big ship and have a 1mill to buy cargo, the money stars coming in fast. Buying a sidewinder or Eagle is small change.
How is it pretentious to ask that people use the correct word to describe their meaning? I think you should look at that definition of pretentious again, Jockey. Or should I just start using words that look similiar and sound similar to describe words that have completely different meanings. I think the word you're looking for is LAZY.pretentious
