I have literally been exploring for about a month, which included a visit to Sagittarius A. I found countless water worlds, about 6 Earth like worlds etc etc.
I was on my way home when I jumped into a system, did a 180 turn so I wasn't facing the star and put the throttle on to idol, just so I could pop into the kitchen for about 2 minutes. When I came back I was horrified to see ship destroyed. I have no idea how it happened. I'm afraid it has put me off Elite for good now.
The only thing I would say is don't make the same mistake. Save back to main menu if you need to walk away.
