Do others watch bandwidth monitor to know when you're coming out of Hyperspace ?

When HS takes longer than normal ,you come out of it when you receive 2 packets that is normally larger than 100 bytes each, sometimes over 200.
(Ctrl-B for bandwidth monitor, Ctrl-F for fps)

Just curious, do you ? :D

I know when I'm about to drop by the sound that occurs just before. It's like an in-between sound clip that sounds just before the drop out of FSD. Like the cruising sound goes quiet for just a second, then there's the in-between clip, then the FSD drop clip.

This, its unmistakable, you know when the FSD is about to drop you out into the new system.

Yup, got used to this too.
Too used actually...
When you disconnect during the jump, you will skip the in-between sound and ED directly plays the drop sample right before you get the black screen with the error message.
When it happens, it actually makes me jump. It makes me jump as bad as dropping through a star...

My only explanation is that it sounds totally wrong to me now and comes often unexpected.
Strange how we can react in weird ways to different stimuli...

I use the Rift. I've noticed that when I throttle back during the countdown (so as not to fly into a star), when in Witchspace the avatar throttle is fully back (as though in reverse). 3-4 seconds before dropping out, the throttle goes to the middle position. I look for this when the jump goes on longer than normal.

Particularly in Gamma, I would go by the stuttering and brief pausing as the modem grinds the data through during hyperspace. :) I didn't trust the bandwidth monitor, especially as it would not be a predictor of server timeouts.

In keeping with in-game lore, today, I still go by how hyperspace "feels." :D

i set my throttle to 0 once the jumps started, everytime ... dont care when i come out then especialy if u happen to be looking at a web page at the time :p

Guys, you all missed my humorous point, I was wondering if anyone else noticed the bandwidth thing, that's all !!! I don't care when I come out and my throttle is zet to zero.
Whiterose, did you even read my first post ? :D
