Newcomer / Intro Do Paint Jobs Change Ship Interior Colors?

I am considering buying a paint job before I go out exploring. I haven't decided on a color; either ultra dark or something relaxing. One of these, but I first want to know if it matters.

Does changing my paint color change the interior at all? For instance, can I remove the industrial yellows of the Diamondback's Interior by buying Chrome Black?

This question applies to all ships.

Thanks!

No they do not.
I expect that when walking around ships is implemented we will be able to buy interior stuff in the shop.
That would be a good revenue source for FD.

Hmm, alright thanks!

Any opinions or experience with the colors?

A bright green might be really easy to see if a friend comes with me. Pink might be a nice choice for taking the mood somewhere else though?
A different concern might be to go all black so my lights are ultra distinct. Or... it could make me look like I'm camouflaged and turn out really badly! :p

There was a thread a while back of someone who was really upset that those who pre-ordered Horizons got a very black Midnight paint job for free that you can't buy in the store. That person found it outrageous that only some got this paintjob as it presented an unfair advantage in PvP battles, making the game nearly unplayable for that person as a consequence (iirc). You can imagine the discussion that ensued afterwards.

Anyway, the point is: dark colours make you harder to see - other than that, it's just a matter of taste. And, you rarely ever get so see your own ship. I'm looking forward to hopefully getting customizable interiors as well!

I found a thread yesterday regarding going into a configuration file or something and changing the colour of your ships internal screens. I was hoping it would be an in game setting after seeing some videos of good pilots who had purple interiors and things.

I am not sure about whether it's ok to change it or not but I was kinda hoping it was. As effective as orange is I find green much easier on my eyes for anything when playing for long periods.

I'm not sure if it's ok to post this here or not as haven't used these forums much yet but here is a link I had bookmarked regarding it.

I participated in that thread and afaiac dark colors or bright colors do not make that much of a difference in space.
Ships tend to disappear quite easily anyway in the darkness of space. The colour of the hull does not make that much difference at all.
Even the op's pictures in that other thread proved the opposite of what he tried to prove. When that was pointed out to him he stopped posting in his own thread :).

What's more... the tactical skin packs contain dark colours that in practice are just as good as the black friday skin.

It is definitely ok to edit the HUD colour.
FD deliberately enabled the file option to manually change HUD colours.
They intend to give us in game options, but they haven't found the time to do so yet.
It requires some fundamental changes to the way HUD colouring works it seems.

i could've sworn i see an option to change HUD color. in-game options that is. i was like playing with brightness and went "oooh cool, blue HUD..."

No, you have to modify the game files to do it. Most people opt for a blue/white over the orange, or some even like purple/green. I myself prefer the default orange, even if it is kind of boring, but only because the blue/white I think looks worse. I'm optimistic FD will implement it one day. I know it's been requested.

Not to mention that the existence of the config file hack greatly reduces the priority of implementing the actual feature.
