Do passenger missions count towards trade rank?

Just as the title asks
It's maybe been answered but couldn't see it.
I guess it should, otherwise a dedicated "taxi" career would never really progress in any rank much.

Hmm. Good question. Passenger missions seem to be associated with your exploration rank on the mission screen but I have no idea if they count towards trade rank or even exploration rank at that.

Depends what type of mission. There are all 3 kinds, trade, combat and exploration.

The bulk passenger transport with a fixed destination seems to be trade only with a few exceptions.
VP to a fixed destination seems to be combat only with a few exceptions.
VP to run around the galaxy seems to be explorer only with a few exceptions.
