Kind of... they stand still a lot from time to time... so I guess it’s baskingI haven’t had a chance to use a reptile habitat animal but I should. When I go to a zoo I see crocodiles basking in the sun of the bottom of the water, which is why the deep water limit of reptiles should also be reduced.View attachment 249433
Close enough lolKind of... they stand still a lot from time to time... so I guess it’s basking
I would love those enrichments. My tortoises stay still a lot too and my monitors too but the monitors and dragons are a bit more active than they should be. (All animals are honestly)I think only the Crocodiles are really doing it. They do sometimes lie around with their Mouth open. I think the Tortoises don't do it and I assume the Monitor Lizards also don't do it (but I don't keep them that often, so I'm not sure). A Basking Lamp Enrichment and a heated Rock would be absolutely amazing
Komodo Dragons are Monitor Lizards too so there isn't really a Need to write it separatelythe monitors and dragons are a bit more active than they should be.
Except the male Polar Bear in my Marine Park. He was sleeping all the Time before the Space and Diving Update(All animals are honestly)
Reptiles should also be able to close their eyes and sleep while basking, instead of rolling up into their sleeping animations each time. I wish crocodiles were also able to sleep underwater, but sadly bottom of lakes are not navigable.I haven’t had a chance to use a reptile habitat animal but I should. That's actually something else I'd like to see - the crocs ought to be able to navigate the same way as hippos in the water.Reptiles should also be able to close their eyes and sleep while basking, instead of rolling up into their sleeping animations each time. Yeah, I’ve thought of this too. I wouldn’t have thought it’d be too hard to just have them use water like hippos some random proportion of the times they enter the water. I suspect it’d be much harder to get them to transition between modes (swimming vs. hippo mode) if they’re already in the water, but I don’t think that it’d be necessary to implement that ability. That's actually something else I'd like to see - the crocs ought to be able to navigate the same way as hippos in the water.
I'd even be happy for them to just sink to the bottom every now and then and sit there like they do in real life. We shouldn't need 4+m for them to go underwater, but I guess it's difficult for that to change.Yeah, I’ve thought of this too.
