Do seasons exist?

So far, I feel like the weather has been very random. I opened a Temperate zoo in Franchise mode, and it snows in August (in Europe). And of course a lot of my animals were very unhappy. So do seasons exist? Am I just experiencing very strange weather in-game? If seasons don't exist, I wish they did -- because then I could do things to help my animals before winter and snow came in. I could shift them to the indoor part of their habitat and make them comfortable inside while waiting for the cold conditions to pass. As it is, it's a bit of a scramble.

I too have a temperate European franchise zoo and it snows in June, July and August. I'm also wondering if seasons actually exist or whether it's not intended.

It didn't snow for an entire in-game year for me once. It's totally random. It's mostly sunny/cloudy. What I do is, for the animals that have a problem with the snow, give them the heaters but put them at a temperature that they are also ok with for the rest of the year so you don't have to keep going around all the enclosures to change all them all. Around 24°C is good from what I can remember...Or basically in the orange area of the...switch thing. LOL. 🙂 The snow only lasts like 2 minutes from what I've seen so it would be a headache having to go back around the enclosures to change the heaters when you have literally just done it. 😒

...I had never noticed what the actual month was when I got hit by a snowstorm, so I hadn't realize how random it was! HAHAH!!

I have gotten into the habit of adding heaters when I first make my habitats, for the animals that won't like the snow, before I add things like plants and stuff. That way I don't need to worry when I get hit with an unexpected snowfall. I also sink them down into the ground, so they are -just- under the surface, so they're not visible. (Except for the little heat wave animation they have directly over the top of them, but that isn't nearly as obvious.)

I forget about them until an animal has a problem with the snow and I'm like "Oh yeah...Another animal that doesn't like snow". 🤣
