Do ship kits add to your hitbox?

Greetings Commanderrs, having just earned my Duke rank and purchasing the Imperial Cutter, I am interested in buying the ship for her. My question is do the added protrusions to the wings/nose/spoiler affect your hitbox in relation to docking/undocking? I know they are cosmetic changes only, but I dont know if they REALLY do make the ship wider/taller or simply appear to do so in-game?

No. In case the various responses are confusing. Cosmetics are purely asthetic; there are no changes to hit boxes. So the answer, is no.

So when i shoot you cosmetic "wing" for example it does 0 damage? Or simply shoot true like hologram? Im confused too.

Or when you add front cosmetics and ram ships or use it like shield, its does 0 damage to you?

Ship kits don't exist for the game engine. Imagine they are ghosts, can't touch them, can't hurt them and anything will go right through.

thats pretty unrealistic and confusing. They are basically holograms. They should sell them as "holograms" in description.

They tell you in the description that they don't alter your ships performance.

I agree that it's unrealistic but necessary to maintain the "no pay2win" approach.

Please don’t confuse the issue. Cosmetics are cosmetic. They do not have colliders. No hit boxes. They are essentially described as holograms. Which is Frontier speak for handwavium. Either way; no hit boxes. There is no confusion here.

yop, basically super unrealistic thing in "simulator" game. At least they try making "real" things but then they make something like that?

No, they are not described as holograms, if they are, nothing is wrong because it would make more sense then fake metal cosmetic.

In this case, it would be more pay2loose :D
An increased hitbox would be a serious disadvantage.

So NO, shipkits do nothing. If you scratch a wall, the shipkits will be clipping through it. Shots just fly through them with 0 damage! You have to hit the actual ship like at anyone else.

From Frontier Store:
Ship Kits do NOT alter the performance parameters or hit box of your ship in any way. It is purely a cosmetic item.

The idea is that stuff that is sold via in game shop will never alter the performance of your ships.
