Do stations orbit around planet?

I know the planets are actually orbiting sun in ED, but how about station?

Cuz for me it felt like the stations are always in the same position.

I know it's a really small detail but it would be great if someone confirm this for me :D

The stations are orbiting planets or moons (most of the time - there are stations orbiting the star(s) directly). It may take a while for them to complete an orbit around the planet, but they do.

Yep, they orbit. Sometimes it's fast enough that you can see the starfield moving as the station goes around the planet.

It may be that some stations are in geo-stationary orbits, so always face the same part of the planet, this could give the impression it is not orbiting.
:)

They certainly do. I remember one time coming out of SC and heading to a station. When I arrived there it was in full sun light, and I stopped to admire the view. I then turned away from my screen and spoke to my wife for a couple minutes, and when I turned back, the station was in the shadow of the planet. I was quite surprised - I turned to ace the planet behind me and it was now rim-lit. Very cool :)

I had one in B3.9 where SC slowed me down to the point where I couldn't quite catch the station if I was following the orbital path. Another player was with me having the same issue and our SC glows were merged in a blinding ball of light.

I had to drop out of SC and then overshoot the station to come in from the other side. Other player was still stuck when I exited.
